We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is the interface, which is very user friendly. We are utilizing most of the features, like content filtering. The firewall is powerful.""A strong point of FortiGate is the graphical interface is complete and easy to use.""I really like the captive portal feature for our guest network. It has nice VLAN features in terms of separating our network. The anti-virus is also good.""The notable features that I have found most valuable are that it includes the antivirus, and also IPS, and even SD-WAN.""The solution is easy to configure and maintain remotely.""The pricing is excellent. It's much less expensive than Cisco.""Secure, user-friendly, stable, and scalable network security solution. Installation is straightforward.""I think that the UTM features are the most value, as it truly protects my infrastructure."

"The solution's initial setup process is easy.""I had no difficulty using the Huawei NGFW.""I am impressed with the product's antivirus features, strong encryption, policy implementation and easier installation.""Huawei was able to assist us in the installation of their product. The installation was very fast.""We make use of the new data center, specifically the containerized data center which is built and reviewed by Huawei, including all the device's infrastructure.""The solution's implementation is pretty easy.""The user interface is very, very good.""It enables us to configure different policies and restrictions for specific users within the same subnet."

More Huawei NGFW Pros →

"I like how you can configure the rules. There is the task for the rules and a task for the network configuration. It also provides SMD filtering, and it can be integrated with the active directory for the users, their mission, and the VPN configuration. We are here in Sudan, and Stormshield didn't work in Sudan for more than a decade. Stormshield is a very strong firewall and very easy to configure and maintain. I am just working with the firewall solution, and we don't have any other solutions like endpoint solutions or something like that.""Ease of use is the best feature of the product.""This solution is quick and easy to configure.""I like that it works fine. Stormshield is a very good solution.""The most valuable features are the IPS, the firewall function, and the price.""Easily manageable in a variety of environments.""The solution has improved my organization because I can see what traffic is happening and I can use it to block and prevent attacks.""I can see what traffic is going on. I can easily block any programs from attacks."

Cons
"The user interface could be improved to make it less confusing and easier to set up.""I could not configure sFlow from the FortiGate graphical user interface. I realized that the sFlow configuration is available only from the CLI, and discovered that sFlow is not supported on virtual interfaces, such as VDOM links, IPsec, or GRE.""The logs need to be better. They need to be more visible and easier to access.""The improvement is related to logs. Instead of the CLI, we should be able to have more insights into the logs of the firewall in the GUI.""The renewal price and the availability could be improved.""The routing capability on the FortiGate devices has room for improvement.""Technical support could be better. You don't always get the level of help you need right away.""The reports are very basic."

More Fortinet FortiGate Cons →

"The solution doesn't seem to be very mature. Our networking team says they are experiencing a lot of issues in the firewalls and some routers.""The WAF capability in the Huawei Firewall is missing.""The solution could be more secure and have better integration.""With the Huawei firewall, none of the features comes at the top. We found out later that customer support is really not good. For this firewall, because of our customers' routine, for example, every six months they'll do a penetration test to find weaknesses. So whenever they came up with VAPT reports, they are looking to Huawei for help. I think that's basically because it's a different culture. Chinese culture and our culture is different. They have always tried to help find some excuses or say some other things that cannot help you solve the problem immediately.""The IPS feature must be improved.""One issue is integration. Huawei can't detect Indicators of Compromise (IoC). I can get a lot of information about security, but can't automatically input the EP, domain URL, and file hashes I get from Hackersworld into my blocklist.""The solution requires a more interactive dashboard. That would make it easier than playing with configurations the way we have to now.""I would like to see an antivirus solution included with the product."

More Huawei NGFW Cons →

"The biggest issue was their support department was not able to help us, then everything stops. This is a no-go area for me.""The SD card could be more secure.""This is not a next-generation firewall.""The filtering configuration could be better. We have some difficulties with the filtering configuration and the filter extension. It's not that easy. It's not that straightforward. In the next release, I would like to see a reporting system. Stormshield doesn't have any tutorials on how to do the configuration and things like that. They just have documentation on the website. If you want to configure, for example, Cisco or Fortinet, you can find tutorials on YouTube. They show you how to configure the features, and so on. In Stormshield, there is nothing on social media or the internet on how to configure different things. The lack of documentation or the lack of material makes it difficult for others to adopt this solution.""A more user-friendly interface would be helpful.""Not all the fields are activated yet and we were informed that it will take at least one month.""With Stormshield, there are difficulties joining things, and it can be complex depending on the architecture.""This solution has a big problem with web filtering and it needs to be improved."
