Find out what your peers are saying about Anaplan, Oracle, Jedox and others in Business Performance Management."The most valuable features are both its budgeting and forecasting."
"The ability to digest any information and then correlate it in accordance with what you need is valuable. The ability to connect to pretty much everything and bring the information in the same format is also valuable. On top of that, we can use their language in order to create and customize the dashboards, correlations, or analytics that we want to incorporate."
"You can run reports against multiple devices at the same time. You are able to troubleshoot a single application on a thousand servers. You can do this with a single query, since it is very easy to do."
"You can use it to gather syslog messages from anything."
"We primarily use it to correlate logs throughout the enterprise for both searching and use in investigations."
"It gives us good visibility into multiple environments, including cloud, on-premises, and hybrid; irrespective of platform."
"If I need to integrate devices for logs, it is easier with Splunk. We can integrate different applications, network devices, and databases. It is also very rich in documents. It is the best."
"With good domain knowledge, one can build almost anything. If you throw in Alert Manager or an integration with ServiceNow. Then, you have your own SIEM"
"The most valuable feature is that it's very good for log aggregation."
"We have been advised by the owners that the budgeting tool is no longer going to be supported with future development, so my recommendation would be for them to continue to invest in development. Otherwise, at some point we will have to migrate to another technology."
"Its user interface for everything other than the charts can be improved. Some parts of it can be simplified a bit, such as when importing documents that have the network traffic. When you're going through the information about the network traffic, you have to have the expertise, but even if a program is supposed to be for IT support, it is good to make it user-friendly because it gets easier to train people. When something goes wrong, the more difficult a program is in terms of UI, the harder it is to fix the issue."
"The GUI can be improved. Splunk has always suffered from having a kind of goofy UI, it needs some updating."
"It requires a significant amount of relatively complex architecture once you push past the single server instance."
"Its interface could be improved."
"If you have to do your own stuff, such as customized charts, it is a little bit more work, but once you're familiar with the Splunk query language, you can pretty much do whatever you want. In terms of features, it should probably have the features that other competitors provide."
". Having a trial version or more training on Splunk would be helpful."
"Given the ever-increasing number of threats, I would like Splunk to update its threat signatures more frequently."
"The glass table feature does not perform as expected."
