We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
The most valuable features are Report Development (Functionality) and Information Distribution (Flexibility). For planning, forecasting, in-boxing, modeling in general and for predicting numbers and doing work analysis, they are excellent.A positive feature is Report Studio, where we create beautiful, complex reports. The most valuable feature is developing reports from different data sources, making it a reliable data source. It's enabled us to report directly from our main application systems. We're removing islands of data and we're removing inefficiencies, where people or small divisions had their own store of information.Using custom controls, it is possible to extend the application with even more functionality and make the application intuitive and attractive.Self-service is possible through the use of dashboards, which are also very intuitive. Stories can be used to pin snapshots, tell the story for meetings, etc.Integration with Office can enable the 'download' mode of storytelling.‚Äč

This solution has improved our ability in making decisions and explaining data.I like the downloadable visualizations a lot. I think that they give the user a very nice starting point in creating awesome dashboards, with the right way to tell their data story. If you are not very technical this tool could be very useful. The feature I find most valuable is the ability to publish Power Bi reports, using an embedded link, directly onto a website. There was a lot of manual work involved with Excel, whereas once we moved on to Microsoft Power BI, it was a cleaner dashboard and it was faster too.The uploading of information is very easy, as you just use an Excel sheet to start work right away and obtain the benefits of Power BI.Because this solution is very easy, and very visual, you can have results in minutes. It is a good platform for data analysis, organization, and all of the other interim performances that are necessary.

Cons
This product could use improvement in terms of usability for those with less technical know how.The charts and graphics are weak.We need more predictive analytical functions, not only diagnostic or decryptic analytics. One thing that we really want is the ability to have data portrayed on an image. Cognos is not able to do it at the moment, and that's becoming a requirement from the business side: having an image and then plotting your dataset on top of the image as a map.I think the GIS pieces maybe not as good as we would like.Extending features on dashboards so it becomes a real dashboard building application, not only a data exploration tool.Extending dynamic cubes aggregate awareness with calculated measures.

We would like to have better SQL support for queries. Some kind of expression wizard, where the user can build a complex expression without any knowledge of DAX, can be a good addition to the product.Adding paginated reports to this tool could be of great help for users who want to move away from SSRS.I would like to see Machine Learning for Power Bi Pro users or an intermediate license to enable Machine Learning if you don't have access to a Premium account.I think because I'm moving more into RPA, I'd definitely like to see integration across the RPA, Power BI, or Tableau platforms, because that integration could then make automation and mundane reporting much faster.I would like to see the product offer more graphics to impact different audiences.I would like to see a feature that connects with a Machine Learning platform like a RapidMiner or Azure Machine Learning Studio. It would be great to have a Machine Learning application link to connect. It could have more of a hold on big data. Manipulating big data on this solution complicates things. This needs to be improved.
