We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The reporting features are good and there are many built-in reports that can be quickly configured.""It helped with some of the regulatory requirements. It also helped with some of the security analytics and analysis. It was worthwhile from that perspective.""The most valuable feature is that it provides a simple English recommendation on actions that you need to take once a vulnerability is discovered."

"This is one of the best products I have worked with so far. I like the power of Qualys, and it's a better solution because you can scan a compact file, a BIT file, or batch files. The product already knows what's happening inside, and you don't need to expand the package. Tenable will do the same thing, but you need to have a package issuance claim. With Qualys, we can immediately understand the file, even a compact file. If there's some kind of discovery or incident, you will know what happened in the environment.""The most valuable feature is the certificate management.""Qualys VM had a recent upgrade and the newer version is supporting the cloud.""The most valuable feature is the ability to run different capabilities with the same agent. With only one agent, we can have EDR, vulnerability management, compliance and some basic SaaS security capabilities.""I find the solution's dashboard interesting...The response time is fine. You can pull up reports without dragging or consuming bandwidth.""This solution gives us insight into our environment and improves our security. It helps us to maintain a good patching system whereby we know that XYZ is vulnerable within the system.""It gives a very good overview of the inventory assessment process, and it can be accessed across our company because it's a global tool.""The initial setup was good. We didn't have any problems with it."

Cons
"Building policies is not that easy. There are some things that are turned off by default, for example, displaying values.""The interface could be improved by having sub-groups of tests, ultimately making the process of collecting tests faster.""It was not as easy to use. The user-friendliness of it was somewhat lower than what I was expecting. It was also lacking in terms of the ease of the setup. There should be an automatic agent for deployment."

More IBM Guardium Vulnerability Assessment Cons →

"Some of the older features could be polished instead of focusing on releasing new features.""Qualys VM's vulnerability scan could be improved, especially the number of CVE numbers it can manage at a time.""One of the biggest issues from the clients' perspective is that all Qualys computing is on the cloud.""The IoT scan is not great.""It's quite complex on the way it is set up, so it takes a fair bit of time in order to get your head around it in order to deploy it. Once you've deployed it, then you're never confident on the versions of the browsers and the SSL certificates, etc. You have to always go back into Qualys and check.""I would like to see this solution more developed and competitive in the Cloud space.""Reports were lacking somewhat on the customization side.""Sometimes the scanning can get overwhelmed and start to drag when a lot of users are trying to scan at once."

    Overview

IBM Guardium Vulnerability Assessment scans data infrastructures (databases, data warehouses and big data environments) to detect vulnerabilities, and suggests remedial actions. The solution identifies exposures such as missing patches, weak passwords, unauthorized changes and misconfigured privileges.

Vulnerability Management, Detection, and Response (VMDR) is a cornerstone product of the Qualys TruRisk Platform and a global leader in the enterprise-grade vulnerability management (VM) vendor space. With VMDR, enterprises are empowered with visibility and insight into cyber risk exposure - making it easy to prioritize vulnerabilities, assets, or groups of assets based on business risk. Security teams can take action to mitigate risk, helping the business measure their actual risk exposure over time.

Qualys VMDR offers an all-inclusive risk-based vulnerability management solution to prioritize vulnerabilities and assets based on risk and business criticality. VMDR seamlessly integrates with configuration management databases (CMDB), Qualys Patch Management, Custom Assessment and Remediation (CAR), Qualys TotalCloud and other Qualys and non-Qualys solutions to facilitate vulnerability detection and remediation across the entire enterprise.

With VMDR, users are empowered with actionable risk insights that translate vulnerabilities and exploits into optimized remediation actions based on business impact. Qualys customers can now aggregate and orchestrate data from the Qualys Threat Library, 25+ threat intelligence feeds, and third-party security and IT solutions, empowering organizations to measure, communicate, and eliminate risk across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
