    IBM Lotus Sametime Meetings is platform for unified communications and collaboration. It provides a core set of synchronous (real-time) communication services that make it easier to find, reach and collaborate with colleagues, customers and business partners over an intranet or the Internet. Lotus Sametime awareness technology lets members who have logged in to Lotus Sametime to see all other members who are logged in. While awareness lists support instant collaboration with other online users, the Lotus Sametime Meeting Room Center provides a central meeting place for members of the community. The Lotus Sametime client is a Java application that uses the Eclipse-based IBM Lotus Expeditor. The Lotus Sametime client leverages the Eclipse plug-in framework to provide developers with extensibility features that go far beyond those available in previous Lotus Sametime releases. Instant meetings are meetings that Lotus Sametime Connect users can create on the fly, and are perfect for quick meetings when you don't need to save the meeting room, its content, and related information. The Lotus Sametime client allows users to talk to other Lotus Sametime users through their computer's audio features and Voice-over-IP (VoIP) technology. Users who are equipped with video components, Users can send files, allows the users to instantly create a telephone conference and equipped with location awareness that can be customized to reflect different locations.
    Skype for Business offers features including presence, IM, voice and video calls, online meetings, conferencing, and telephony solutions that support enterprise-level collaboration requirements. Skype for Business Record meetings, share your screen, and annotate PowerPoint for real-time collaboration with up to 250 people and use whiteboard, polls, Q&A, and built-in IM during your business meetings to make them more productive. Skype for Business provides new client experience, Skype for Business Server provides several new features to improve manageability of on-premises servers and hybrid solutions. Skype for Business also supports the Lync client experience so that you can choose a phased upgrade approach to the new client experience for users. Skype for Business is also an integral part of Microsoft Office 365, providing PSTN Conferencing, Cloud PBX, PSTN Calling, and Skype Meeting Broadcast capabilities to Office 365 users.
