We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The solution is easy to learn and with it, it's easy to replicate knowledge.""Its integration with source control is very refreshing. There could be a little bit more maturity around how to do some of the features, but not having to go outside the app, not having a separate set of procedures, allows you to check in and check out right from within the app. You can make edits and uploads and undo your checkouts.""It really does have a great dashboard. It has Bot Insight, it has MetaBots, and IQ Bots. It has so many features where it can read a file and loop.""MetaBots are useful when connecting to websites or to forms with objects that need to be captured.""MetaBot is the most valuable feature. Other products have robotic functionality but MetaBot is a kind of functionality by which code is created... so business users who do not have coding knowledge can drag and drop.""We have seen more efficient processing and less number of errors due to quality control.""We have staff who have been moved out of the mundane tasks and are now doing value-added activities.""One of the features that we have used the most is an action in the Workbench called Object Cloning. We find that very reliable and very useful for implementing different business processes."

"It is easy to use. We have enabled our resources who don't have a background in automation to be certified and trained, then implement this product within a very short period of time, as it is very user-friendly.""It's integrated with all the other products within the Salesforce ecosystem.""The solution's ease of use is its most valuable aspect."

More IBM Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Pros »

"The features that we have found the most valuable are the integration of different third-party support and productivity services.""The best part of Kofax is that they have a whole concept. It's one product, but also has extra elements that can be integrated.""The drag and drop functionality is quite good.""This is a stable platform and we did not encounter any big problems.""It is stable and scalable."

Cons
"We had several issues when trying to connect the different components, due to our firewalls. They were eventually solved by our internal IT and the AA technical team.""Regarding the UI, once you're in some of the screens there are fixed dialogues. They are a set size, so there's a lot of horizontal scrolls and vertical scrolls.""If I want to do something that is more purely business-related and is somewhat complex to write or is nuanced, I sometimes have trouble implementing that inside of the Automation Anywhere script. I feel limited at times with some of the looping and some of the branching and some of the ways to make procedure calls when I have a complex business issue.""The schedule queue needs improvement. When one task fails, everything else gets stuck, requiring manual intervention to clear the problematic schedule and trigger the other tasks.""There is room for improvement when this application is used in a Citrix-based environment.""We have a few issues which have persisted. These end up restarting the machine. We are hoping in version 11.3 of Automation Anywhere, our compatibility and infrastructure issues will be resolved.""If you work with image recognition and custom objects, there are stability issues.""The main things I've found that could be better are small things that can be annoying when you're using them a lot. I would recommend they add a feature where, if you mark the start of an "If" sentence it will highlight the end of the "If" sentence. That would make it easier to get a better overview."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Cons »

"I would like it to do pretty much everything out-of-the-box without any need for any customization. However, that is not the case right now. We absolutely have to do some amount of customization with the solution in order to use it out-of-the-box as-is.""We are looking to see how it can connect with various interfaces seamlessly, through APIs.""We're based in Thailand, but the documentation is not in Thai, which makes it difficult for us. If they could translate all of their documentation into our language, we'd be very grateful."

More IBM Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Cons »

"This product has room for improvement in support of aviation. The interface could be improved in the next release.""I'd like to see a recording function and a more simple interface.""The solution needs to be scalable.""It needs a free training portal for anybody on the internet to use so that they can get an idea of what the possibilities are.""There is really nothing special about the capabilities of this product.""Exception handling needs to be improved.""The product needs more AI capabilities."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even.""Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running.""Automation Anywhere is costlier than the general competition. That is aligned with the share of the market it has.""They're very flexible around pricing and licensing.""They give us a good deal on the licensing because we bundle and customize things. If you ask to get a bulk business deal, you will receive more benefit. If you take other products from the suite, like IQ Bot, you can also receive a deal on the licensing.""We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases.""If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000.""It's cheaper than other similar solutions."

Information Not Available
"The normal price for an on-premises license is €50,000. That's the price for one robot license. You can have more than one robot license but only one can be run at any one time. I believe the cost of adding a second robot is around €14,000."
