    Overview
IBM Streams is an advanced analytic platform that allows user-developed applications to quickly ingest, analyze and correlate information as it arrives from thousands of data stream sources. The solution can handle very high data throughput rates, up to millions of events or messages per second. Streams helps you analyze data in motion, simplify development of streaming applications, and extend the value of existing systems.
SAP IT Operations Analytics gives you holistic visibility into your entire hardware and appli-cation landscape by aggregating data sources within one layer. Network topology, system log data, and external message catalogs can now be combined to provide one comprehen-sive view of the network. This helps your IT department detect incidents more quickly. SAP IT Operations Analytics integrates data sources from different layers so logs from multiple layers can be combined into one consistent, simplified data model. The sources of data can include services, applica-tions, operating systems, or even end-user devices at the top. They can go so deep as to include data from servers, the network, or storage – including sensors – in the data center, making the IT department can now correlate data patterns from multiple streams with extreme efficiency to find root causes to problems.
