Pros
"The compression, because it drastically reduces the disk space.""It has reduced our backup time and simplified our backup processes across all the servers."

"If you have windows machine at home and you'd like a backup, you can always download their free edition and plug in an external hard disk, and do a full backup of your laptop.""The solution is useful for taking backups for end-user laptops and end-user workstations where data is involved.""The user interface is good. It provides a lot of information.""It's powerful and user-friendly.""The installation of Veeam Agent is straightforward.""This is a reliable system that supports Veeam backup and recovery for Windows.""Application awareness is very good and the speed of this solution is good.""Veeam is very user-friendly and intuitive software."

Cons
"I would like to see the pieces that they have put in the web only to be put into the thick client sitting on the desktop client.""The way the filtering goes, if you filter on your view, there is no indication that you have made a selection.""Make sure you check your backups on a regular basis. Backups do get missed with this tool, for whatever reason."

More IDERA SQL Safe Backup Cons →

"There are not many options available for AIX backup. They provide the agent for AIX, but it could be more mature.""A feature I would like to see is universal restore. At the moment, restoration can only be smooth on the same hardware. Let's say you have a server and you back it up with Veeam Agent, in case it fails or crashes. If you later buy a new server because the same one isn't available on the market anymore, there's a high chance that Windows will not boot up if you restore from the Veeam backup because the hardware is now different. Acronis has the universal restore feature, so it will work with generic drivers and you can restore Windows in any dissimilar hardware. As far as I know, Veeam doesn't have this feature yet.""I would like to have a more automated installation process.""I would like there to be more integration with other platforms.""Some customers have Oracle databases and Veeam does support back up of Oracle databases.""If you are doing an AIX backup then you have to use the CLI because it doesn't appear on the console, the way that Windows and Linux jobs do.""Maybe in the future, they could do something better with the user interface and the performance, but so far it's a really good, efficient solution.""Troubleshooting is very hard."
