We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The financial posting controls are quite handy. The user interface is really friendly, highly flexible, and pretty intuitive for end users.""The most valuable features of IFS Applications are their intuitiveness and ease of use. The navigations are also straightforward, which makes it easy to train users. The feedback I always receive is that it is very user-friendly.""IFS Applications is an all-in-one solution for finance, accounting, and production.""All the modules are valuable in their own right, but everything has to go through the ERP. IFS has done an excellent job integrating the various modules to complete these processes. My expertise is in the finance module, but I have used the other verticals. It's an all-around good product.""IFS Applications' best feature is the user-friendly interface that has a .NET Framework application in the front end and an Oracle database and WebLogic middleware.""Some of the strengths are Enterprise Management Solutions and the series of Management solutions which is number one in Gartner's report and has been for the last five years.""I like the connectivity and interfaces. In V10, it's easy to modify the interfaces and layouts, but it's becoming more complicated in the cloud. IFS is excellent at asset maintenance and incident management. They have specialized modules for IFS that cover incident and asset management and everything else connected to finance. The reporting in IFS is also easy to use.""The most valuable features of IFS Applications in the latest version are the new user Arena interface. It's from Apps 9, but it brings more flexibility in usage, especially around different devices, such as mobile usage, which doesn't restrict you from using a computer. We are it for the HR side, and it's proving quite good. It has a new modern feel to it similar to a standard cloud application which enhances the user experience."

"The most valuable feature is financial control. The accounting aspect allows us to manage our clients and payments.""The solution is easy to use and not complicated. Also, it is easy to get trained on. Also, there is good information available on the web. The GP community is quite broad and there are many blogs online.""You can track everything from beginning to end quite easily.""The fixed assets, payroll, the data module, and user-friendliness are most valuable.""I haven't used it a lot, but the best thing is that the processes are very detailed.""The stability was reliable.""The solution offers integrations with other software as well. We have integration with Microsoft Office where we can do Word and Excel, etc.""The system is easy to customize and has user-friendly access. "

Cons
"An area for improvement would be transactions, which can be tedious to complete as the process is very complex.""Aspects of HR and payroll could be better.""Sometimes from the sales perspective, clients don't always fully understand how large a task or a project they're getting involved in when they decide, "We're going to switch across to IFS." They could probably do a little bit more, maybe around preparing people for these projects.""The solution needs to improve its documentation and user-friendliness.""The user interface can be improved. When you're clicking through the screens, there are some icons or symbols that really need updating and would be more useful and noticeable if they are aesthetically pleasing.""The solution's initial setup process was complex...The technical support my company receives from the implementation partners of the solution is not that great.""The CRM was shaky and although this improves in Apps 10, there is room for improvement.""The integration is a bit complex, and post-implementation support services need to be improved. They have a service center based out of Sri Lanka. The support aspect is good, but the response time is a little slower than we anticipated. In the next release, it would be better if Warehouse Management could be improvised. They have a product line that's a data warehouse management system, but it's still premature and requires a bit of enhancement."

More IFS Cloud Platform Cons →

"What could be improved is the functionality of Dynamics GP because it requires a lot of development by the programmers and the company in order to integrate into a solution.""As technology changes, I would say probably in the area of chart up account needs improvement because chart up account is a string. So if they make it more flexible.""It still can be improved in web-based and build reporting. ""Dynamics GP could be improved in terms of its usability and modernization.""The purchase order and processing aspects of the solution should be improved.""It requires a lot of expertise to implement.""Many of our customers are migrating to the cloud rather than staying on-premises.""There should also be extra redundancy when posting to modules. We use different sets of books such as CashBook and CheckBooks therefore if I select the wrong one the solution allows the transaction to just pass without warning."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is better to buy implementation services from IFS than from partners"
  • "Licensing is on an annual basis, with no additional costs."
  • "Ask for all-inclusive pricing, as they are pretty flexible if you ask for custom models."
  • "Pricing is an area that could be improved. They could be more competitive."
  • "IFS Applications is expensive software, but it's on par with SAP and Oracle. It's for large enterprises and government entities and not for small and medium-sized enterprises. They have one licensing model, but if you want to have a module-specific license, they provide component-based licenses. Unlike SAP and Oracle, it doesn't have different levels of licensing. It's one level of licensing."
  • "There's an additional yearly cost for support."
  • "There are varying license levels that you can purchase."
  • "IFS Applications are competitive in terms of pricing compared to other vendors, such as SAP, Oracle, and Epicor. They are generally cheaper, especially for licensing costs."

  • "Its pricing and licensing are high. Of course, we all know that it is Microsoft."
  • "We evaluated some local products, because of the pricing, but this product has better features and support."
  • "For us, in our local currency, it costs us around 5 million Botswanan Pulas a year. It's quite a lot of money."
  • "The solution's price is steep."
  • "I think the tool is competitively priced and it's more of a one-time investment with a low annual renewal fee."
  • "I would say that the pricing is moderate, not cheap, and not expensive. There are many more expensive ERPs than GP, and there are less expensive as well, so it is moderately priced."
  • "In comparison to other ERP systems, the pricing is not necessarily inexpensive, but it can be considered more cost-effective."
  • "It is an affordable solution."
