Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The modeler is useful for creating the flow. The way to access the data through their REST API is also valuable. This is what we're using right now.""Ease of use and ability to streamline a process model.""We can share, discuss, and develop the model together — from a distance. It's really helped us during these times of isolation.""The solution is good for data models.""Camunda Platform has a very good interface for workflow and business process design.""Overall, the solution has been very solid.""I can use any other tools to create services and the UI, and then use them together with the Camunda BPMN engine.""The most valuable feature is the scheduling."

"We found the technical support to be helpful.""Provides a valuable BPMN feature."

More iGrafx Pros »

"I think the best part of Visio is that you can import drawings very well into Microsoft Word. For example, if you put the Visio drawing into Word, you can double click on it and it opens in Visio. It is a very useful feature and something which I miss switching to Enterprise Architect. In Enterprise Architect, if I import a drawing into Word it does not open the diagram in Enterprise Architect. This is one of the strongest features and the ability to create your own stencils.""Visio makes it easier than with other tools to do such tasks as changing things or coming up with one's own visual style for presentation purposes.""We are all familiar with it, and it is easy to use. There is a lot of flexibility, and you can add shapes if you want.""The most valuable features are that the user experience is simple, and it's customizable.""I like all the features. I go online, and everything pops there. It is in the cloud, and everything is there. Even if there is a crash, everything is still there. I don't lose anything. That's what is the most valuable and likable. It is really a professional solution for designing. The designs look really nice in the PDF.""The most valuable feature is how easy it is to use.""Visio has allowed us to create good diagrams for our technical employees to consume. The solution provides templates, is straightforward, and has tools for the easy creation of diagrams.""This is a very straightforward product and I don't think that anything needs to be simplified."

Cons
"Documentation can be improved.""The migration strategy needs to be improved.""When trying to design rule tables the solutions graphical user interface could improve, it could be more user friendly.""If they could build some scripts or some configuration to get it up and running in a Docker environment, that would be good. I didn't find anything when on Docker, however, maybe they have something and I didn't see it yet.""The only drawback is the time that it takes to have a complete set of workflows implemented on the Camunda platform.""The initial setup can be complex for business users.""Process interfaces between diagrams could be improved.""We have faced problems with the performance."

"The price could be more competitive.""It would be nice to have a Spanish user interface available to us."

More iGrafx Cons »

"It should be easier to transition into a new version without having to spend so much time in just one area.""Layout configuration is sometimes a little difficult to use.""To be able to extract a report for business project management notations would be ideal.""One thing that I always felt was missing was the ability to integrate with other Microsoft products, particularly with things like SharePoint or other Excel Office tools. It may be available, but it is not as good as it could be.""Its integration with other vendors can be better and support for other formats. For example, when we import a JPEG, we cannot customize it. Similarly, we can't utilize the BPML kind of diagrams.""We need the place and route capability for the lines when we have a database. I use it for architectures, and between the boxes, there are lines or interfaces from one tool to another. I wish those lines could be easily drawn without having to place them mechanically. I wish that there was some kind of place and route capability, so I just press a button, and all the lines get drawn.""If you look at ARIS, for example, or Signavio, the flowchart combines all the details and with the click of a button I can create a process manager. That would be something that Visio could add. It would cut my workload in half.""The user interface could be simplified and easier to use."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"We're using the open-source version for now.""We have an annual subscription to this solution.""The open-source version of the product is free to use.""When compared with the proprietary products, the pricing costs are much less, even though it is an enterprise edition.""There is an open-source version available, that in its core features (workflow and decision engine, modeler) is exactly the same as in the enterprise version.""Generally, the price could be better, as well as the licensing fees.""We use the open-source version, which can be used at no cost.""Licensing costs are anywhere from $80,000 to $100,000 USD per year."

"Our license for Visio is including with the Office 365 subscription.""While I don't recall the exact price I do recall that it was quite high.""Visio is expensive.""I don't have any issue with the pricing. It has a subscription-based model, and the subscription is done on a yearly basis. Of course, we need internal approvals in place.""I believe Visio to be priced pretty reasonably.""The licensing process is actually a breeze. Simply buy the license and download it from Microsoft, enter the license key in Visio to activate the software, and you're done.""I think costs are on a per user basis.""There is a licensing fee, but it is fairly priced."
