We performed a comparison between Inflectra SpiraTest and Jira based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Application Requirements Management solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Inflectra SpiraTest has a lot of functionality, which is good."
"We were able to add a step-by-step procedure for someone to follow to assist in testing."
"The user-friendly features are the most valuable. For example, migration of requirements and migration of test cases and the creation of traceability. You have various reports that you need. The plug-ins that are available to connect with the other tools."
"The reporting functionality helps vendors and technical resources identify bugs and issues that need to be addressed. The simple dashboard-style home page makes training end-user testers simple and straightforward. The actual testing UI is VERY straightforward and very intuitive for the end-users that test the system since very often we pull from business and operational users to help test new systems."
"I found Inflectra SpiraTest intuitive enough. It's also easy to learn, so this is what I like about it."
"The ability to reuse test cases already used across projects is the most valuable feature of this solution. We don't need to create new ones."
"The features of this product most valuable to me were the test case management and the visual status, by which it was displayed."
"We love the bulk edit feature. Jira also integrates well with Bitbucket."
"There are a lot of plugins in Jira and we purchase the ones we need."
"The JIRA user interface looks great. It's an overall good experience. It's very intuitive in the sense that you understand how it's going to work. It's very self-explanatory, and it's beneficial overall."
"The sprint tracking is really helpful and very convenient."
"I liked the flexibility of the application. It was pretty user-friendly."
"I have found Jira to be scalable."
"A most valuable feature involves the ability to customize the entries and to update them quickly."
"We have around 2000 plus users, so scale wise, there are no issues. We can easily scale up with multiple users."
"Being able to add scripting for testing can and does save a lot of time. When you are able to just ‘run’ a test case rather than manually add it and run it."
"It should develop integration with JIRA. We have some complexities which caused us not to decide to integrate it with our JIRA, like synchronous data."
"The UI for managing test cases, test sets, test runs could be a little more integrated, currently, these feel disjointed at times and confusing. Also, the test steps page needs to display the test steps closer to the top of the UI so as to not have to scroll down to find."
"Migrating is not very easy. It depends on the organization, how efficient and effective the decision-making process is. The plug-ins should be easier and more integrated rather than the user trying to integrate the tools which are more popular, like Jira et al."
"Two areas that can stand improvement: integration with third party products and making it more intuitive."
"The folder organization in Inflectra SpiraTest could be better, though I cannot comment whether that is structure-related. Most of what I need would probably be in the tool, but as a test manager, I need to be able to create dashboards and reports easily."
"The user interface is slightly complicated and not very consistent. It could be more user friendly."
"Pretty much 70% - 80% of the Next-Gen Projects features are still to be developed."
"Something I do not like about the new version is that there is a need to browse all the way back to the beginning, should a person click on a task that is specifically for his group and wish to go back and look at the other portfolios or people."
"There needs to be more integration and connectivity."
"Although it covers the overall requirements and measurements, it'll help if they had their own test execution feature."
"Some of the customizations are definitely a little challenging."
"There is a difference between their cloud and their server versions. The next-gen project, which is an advanced feature that allows you to visualize the road map of your delivery over multiple products and over time, is not available yet for the sever version. It appears there in the list, but it's still not right. I've tried to use it many times and I am watching the device show their tracker, but it seems they intentionally want this to increase the utilization of the cloud instead of the server. It is really a nice feature and it's a shame that we don't have it."
"The thing I don't like is that it is hard to decide which dropdown options should be selected. When we try and submit it, it will state that there are certain mandates in place. It won't allow us to submit the form unless we fill out all the details."
"There is a difficulty viewing all the attachments because they are shown in one place. I would like attachments to be shown at the comment level."
