Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The core business of Cisco Umbrella is non-malware. That's all it does: block the malware on the gateway.""The most valuable feature of this solution is its reliability.""Using this solution has meant that we've needed to make fewer firewall changes.""The most valuable feature is that it secures our network against blacklisted or malicious websites.""The most valuable features are the protection against ransomware and phishing.""It will protect, give you more robustness, and faster responses, compared to any firewalls or any of the proxy web servers.""The most valuable feature for us is the DNS-based protection.""It analyzes the domain security helps us implement the securest policy."

"The most important features for us are preventing DDOS DNS attacks.""With the model we have, we are able to scale very easily if we need to.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the granularity for which you can categorize what you want to block versus what you don't want to block.""The dossier feature is perfect for starting an investigation."

"All internet access flows through the Zscaler proxy, regardless of whether people are in office or remote. I have greater control site access and I minimize the number of compromises that we experience to almost none.""The initial setup was straightforward. The biggest thing for us was to build our own policies. The deployment itself was only a few hours.""The best thing about Zscaler Internet Access is the website filtering. In the UAE it's quite an important feature because most of the malware comes through the SQL injection and through downloads from websites. Zscaler helps protect against that.""The solution offers a distributed organization to master and to control all of the endpoints.""The most valuable feature is bandwidth control.""Zscaler Web Security protects our users in remote locations from internet threats - even if they are not connected to our network.""The scanning feature is impressive, because they do not introduce a big latency to the traffic."

Cons
"The solution's technical support is not very good.""Security, overall, can always be improved.""I would like to see DLP integration in the next release of this solution.""Support for multiple domains is important to us.""I would like to see a graphical representation of the entire network.""It would be useful if they had a malware protection engine running inside their own VM.""This solution does not give us full, 360-degree protection.""I would like to see integration with SecurNX in the future."

More Cisco Umbrella Cons »

"Endpoint solutions need to improved.""The dashboard and reporting features need improvement. The user needs more informative dashboards so they can get to the results directly without getting deep in the report to get to the information.""We would like to see more reporting capabilities that are now offered only with the on-premises reporting appliance.""The integration of threat intelligence with other solutions is challenging. If I want to expose threat intelligence, I cannot do it via taxi services. I have to call the API, but the customers are not into creating the APIs. The integration of embedded threat intelligence with other platforms should be better. Infoblox should work on this, and it should be easier for the end user to integrate it. It is very easy to deploy this solution. We should be able to integrate it with other platforms, such as the Next-Generation Firewall, with the same ease."

More Infoblox BloxOne Threat Defense Cons »

"It needs better integration with other applications. It takes a fair amount of regular activity to apply the by-passes because it is very strict in its restrictions and frequently you have to go in and open things up to allow the workforce to work.""In every cloud service in the world, you have multiple upstream internet providers to create diversity so that if one of your providers fails, your network just continues. In South Africa, there is only one upstream provider, and that's not right. That that's a problem.""In terms of usage, here in the GCC, it's still growing a growing market, so the combination of DLP, data leak prevention, to a certain extent is fine. But what it requires is user-based access or role-based access. The solution needs to grow into that, which definitely takes time. There's not an easy way to integrate it, when you have a cloud-based solution.""Zscaler should provide adjacent services, which would be complementary to their current offering that could to be more pragmatic for a customer. For example, if you take Akamai, you get multiple sets of services, all depending on the customer and the strategy and the complexity and the problems. In some areas, they are more varied in terms of coverage.""It also needs better integration with other applications as well. There are some restrictions.""Another thing that I would like to see is if Zscaler could have a separate product for direct access. I looked at a private access solution, but I understand there's a separate product that isn't integrated with this.""I would like to see the ability to choose a pool of IPs for my company, set up rules based on them, and know that those IPs are not used by other companies."

With ELA, if you buy the solution you will have the complete security portfolio and you can pay it yearly or after three years, it depends on the contract.""I am not sure, I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I think it's $1.00 or so per device/month.""Cisco uses subscription models for the pricing and there are three subscription plans.""The licensing part for Umbrella is really flexible."
