We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"Users love that instead of having to wait for tickets to be resolved, they can open an app and run a specific policy.""We were able to dramatically enhance our cybersecurity, and better support our users.""It's a great way to keep track of all of our licenses and the software we use daily.""The full API lets us write custom scripts and apps to enhance even further the end-user experience.""The features that have been the most life-saving for us are pre-stage enrollments and self-service.""Policies are a great feature that allows us to push certain restrictions to devices that require them, such as the younger generation of students we have.""The design of the GUI, as compared to other solutions, really makes a difference.""The Self Service feature, which allows us to make apps available to our staff and students was essential."

"This is a unified business package that helps people be productive in working environments.""The most valuable feature is Microsoft Teams.""What was most valuable for me was how simple this solution is to start using.""The Power BI environment and the integration between Power BI and SQL are the solution's most valuable features. The integration between products is great.""The flexibility of having a subscription for the Office software, rather than having any upfront costs is the best part of this solution.""The most valuable feature for us is Microsoft Teams.""It has file storage, file sharing, a provisioning box, and a SharePoint profile for each user.""The two biggest value adds of the solution are having the ability to outsource the email and not having to manage the email server. It's just seamless. Having the most current versions all around and having things updating frequently by themselves ensures that everybody's got access to the same software."

Cons
"If it could do ticketing and non-Apple devices then that would be huge.""This solution would benefit from more focus on Self Service, such as Office 365 and GSuite integration.""There is still no feature for properly patching T2 Security Chip-enabled Macs.""A more modern UI in the next release will make the product absolutely perfect.""The ability to ask a device to run a policy regularly would be a real advantage.""An in-house chat room would be a great way to communicate with your team when you aren't physically present with them.""I would love to see an integrated ticketing system built-in, better reporting templates to help analyze the data (software usage, etc.), and integration with FREE SSL Cert (letsencrypt.org) with auto-renewal.""I would like to be able to see what policies and configuration profiles are tied to what Smart/Static groups."

"Flow and Form components can be improved individually, but it would be nice to see the product take the next step and operate as a unit rather than separate modules.""There are loads of holes in security and I'd like to see better integration with security products.""The admin panels have too few samples.""The solution's licensing framework needs improvement.""There are various things that you need to use PowerShell to do. That would be good. You could do them through the management portal, rather than through PowerShell. That's the biggest improvement I would like to see.""The pricing for this solution could be improved.""Updates to the SQL server with better features are needed to compete with Oracle Database.""The ability to manage the updates a little better would be helpful. Sometimes end-users will get a prompt in the middle of the day that they have to update. When there's a new update, then their system automatically starts to reboot, which can be ill-timed. Having a little more control over that would probably be welcome. Notices in regards to updates and being able to manage the timing around them or to be able to do it at off-times would be helpful."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"The cost of this solution is expensive but worth it.""If you have the in-house capability to support Jamf, then paying for onboarding / JumpStart training is a no brainer.""With respect to pricing, Jamf Pro is the better bet.""The total ROI is worth every penny.""The setup is pricey upfront for support and setup.""Setup and licensing prices are getting to be too high.""The cost of Jamf is certainly worth the investment.""I know that as a school we get a discounted price, which is good because without it we would not be able to afford it."

"Depending on which plan you purchase, there are a plethora of applications available to you.""Compared to buying a license, it is much cheaper and a good buy.""We do monthly billing, however, I'm not sure what the exact costs are. We may pay around $1,000/month. We started using the Microsoft Teams and we've started doing the conference call feature, so that's another $4 an account and we have a few accounts using that right now.""USD $1,250 annually for the standard package.""Pricing can vary a lot due to fluctuations in exchange rates and that is not favorable for planning.""Now you can select different licenses, for example, if somebody doesn't need all of the features, it would cost $8 USD per month and if they didn't need the email application then it would cost $6 USD per month.""It works out to be $12.50 per user per month.""Microsoft 365 Business will be good to have if you have a large organization where you have more than 3000 employees. Other cheaper solutions, like Gmail, are easily available in the market."

Questions from the Community
Top Answer: We have been able to keep our tech department lean and mean, maximizing our efficiency by utilizing Jamf to set up our iPads for us, rather than installing each app one at a time.
Top Answer: Cloud is worth the small increase in price, but make the switch before you need it, and not during a global pandemic.
Top Answer: Every once in a blue moon, we wind up with a rarely-seen superbug that takes support weeks to months to solve. The good news is that they are rare and not across the platform. Just us.
Top Answer: We pay a yearly licensing fee to Microsoft. I cannot speak to the exact cost.
Top Answer: It would be ideal if the product offered more integration capabilities with non-Microsoft solutions.
