We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"Jamf is stable, reliable, secure and you have lots of customization options.""The most valuable features are the restrictions, Lost Mode, Self Service, and full implementation of anything Apple will let MDM manage.""Some of the most valuable features for us include remote management, DEP enrollment, and zero-touch deployment.""The most valuable feature is the ability to manage all devices through Apple's DEP and forcing them into Jamf pre-stage enrollment.""Integration with Apple's DEP program and the ability to image systems quickly and efficiently is one of the best features. I use Jamf Pro to push out remote access tools that allow us to help our users with issues that require more "hands-on" than only MDM can provide, which is nice as well.""To have a zero-touch setup for the Macs and iPhones is more valuable than one can think.""Microsoft SSO integration allows us to set up email remotely for users without them having to do anything other than entering their password.""The time that we save in hours for new deployments, redeployments, application upgrades and OS upgrades more than makes up for the cost of the product."

"Microsoft is being very competitive right now, and they are really investing in a lot of new features to be more competitive in the marketplace.""The ability to make collections and deploy to them has been great.""The initial setup is straightforward and not too complicated.""The solution is stable.""The main, clear valuable feature is updating the latest, patches and updates from Windows. This is the main feature we really utilize a lot.""It uses detailed descriptions of the workstations, and that is good for me.""We are happy with the collaboration of SCCM with Patch My PC, which allows us to do patch work.""The most valuable features are application deployment and task-sequenced imaging."

Cons
"Jamf should give the option to download individual device policy logs, as this capability would really help to diagnose issues.""I would love to see an integrated ticketing system built-in, better reporting templates to help analyze the data (software usage, etc.), and integration with FREE SSL Cert (letsencrypt.org) with auto-renewal.""I am always complaining about the reporting side of things. I love how reporting lets us create custom reports, however, I also feel like it could use some updating.""Jamf Pro currently is only used on Mac computers and could improve by having compatibility with other operating systems. We have to use other tools to manage our Windows and Android devices. There could be other improvements but I am still exploring and learning more about the features.""The on-going improvements & innovation that Jamf provides over time is something that needs to be maintained, as it is what is needed to fulfill a business & team need at the right time.""I think that there should also be more integrations with Jamf that could better the intelligence-gathering when making business decisions.""It would be nice if there was a built-in means of renaming computers that worked reliably.""Some improvement can be made in the customer service realm, while also making additional training level courses available for online study and exam-taking."

"I would like to see more automation.""It would be better if reporting were more user-friendly. I would like to see an upgrade in the reporting structure in the next release. At the moment, you have to use an SQL query or configure it to pull reports through the graphical user interface. Their updates could be more regular. I think Mircosoft updates it every six months. They are also moving many things to Intune, and Microsoft decided to move the deployment solution there. I think SCCM is getting old, and Intune is new.""The analysis is something that can be integrated. Their report analysis can be improved a little bit due to the fact that most of the time complaints policies are saved by the admins. It's something that we need to look into and search for.""The solution is on-premises. The cloud version of the product, if a person needs to be on the cloud, would be InTune, which already exists as an option. SCCM doesn't need to offer cloud features for this reason.""It should provide the ability to remotely connect to mobile devices. There are some solutions that are doing that, but with Microsoft Intune, the only way to remotely connect to devices outside the organization and mobile devices is by using TeamViewer. It is pretty strange for a big company like Microsoft to not have something for that.""The solution is a bit heavy on the sources such as RAM or CPU and the software needs to be a bit lighter.""Cloud-based improvements need to be better managed.""Its client interface should be more accessible, and the notifications should be more customizable from the console. It should be more user friendly and have some kind of customized notifications so that we can use it on the client side. These are the reasons why we restricted its use only for the server environment and didn't use it on the client side."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"Don’t go into a sales call without knowing all the details of your system because Jamf has a ton of tools outside of Jamf Pro to offer and knowing them ahead of time is a must.""JumpStart looks a little bit pricey; however, it is worth every penny.""The price of a training pass for five people was $18,000 USD.""Cloud is worth the small increase in price, but make the switch before you need it, and not during a global pandemic.""The setup is pricey upfront for support and setup.""This product is surely worth the cost of implementation.""The price of this solution is a bit high but it is worth the money for the features. There is an annual license for the use of this solution.""The cost of Jamf is certainly worth the investment."

More Jamf Pro Pricing and Cost Advice »

"Pricing is negotiable with Microsoft, depending upon which of their packages you choose.""Its price is okay because it is part of our licensing.""When you compare this solution with other tools in the market you might actually find a lot of variation in the pricing and that's why people opt for the other tools rather than Microsoft tools.""The price model is different for every client.""Presently, I am using a free trial version.""We have to pay for a license.""For enterprises, there is an annual license required to use this solution. The price of the solution could be cheaper. However, this is mostly because of the exchange rate from the dollar to the Nigerian currency."
