Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Conditional access helps me control uncontrolled access.""The main advantage is that Intune performs its intended functions effectively.""Intune device restriction policies enable me to enforce limitations on the device, like blocking the mobile camera or restricting the employees from using and inserting USB devices, including thumb drives and flash drives.""Intune's unified endpoint management platform is invaluable.""Great for software update needs, operating system version updates, and security policy enforcement.""The device profiling which uses the official Outlook email enabled us to control the screenshot feature and prevent copying outside of the organization's application.""The biggest thing for us is enforcing logins only from devices that are managed by Intune.""Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

"Automated Device Enrollment workflows are great for zero-touch deployments, vital in the current global context. With Automated Device Enrollment workflows, we can deploy new Apple devices directly to end-users without help from the IT support team.""The self-service is awesome for empowering end-users, especially if you don't allow admin rights.""There is support for Apple updates from day one. Jamf works closely with Apple, so they are ready to support new updates whenever Apple pushes them.""The self-service is invaluable to the user.""I have been using Jamf Pro for a few years now, and I'm impressed with its functionality and ease of use.""If I need to deploy an app to all the laptops, I can use the smart group I created for them instead of choosing each device one at a time.""Having the ability to automate our workflows has been great.""Thanks to Smart Groups and patch management, a lot of the work being done is via a hands-off approach."

More Jamf Pro Pros →

"In terms of valuable features, we liked the lock feature, the roll-out white feature, and the find feature. I think that Sophos had a GPS locator, so you could figure out where the phone was from a GPS location.""The solution provides us with data protection.""The utmost importance lies in mobile security and its performance.""I like the level of interaction that the product offers with the other products in our company's environment.""The management and enrollment process is great, and with the asset management and instant action menu, we can easily maintain and support the users.""The solution is quite user-friendly.""One of the most valuable features of Sophos Mobile is the Wifi password.""The initial setup process is straightforward and fast."

Cons
"Microsoft Intune needs to improve the initial login process.""The most important thing is reporting. They should improve their reporting. They should give a free hand to users. In SCCM, I can create my own reports. For example, in SCCM, I can create an inventory report for my PC or for all PCs, but in Intune, we don't have an option to create any report. Microsoft claims that Intune is a successor of SCCM, but SCCM is more powerful than Intune. So, they should develop Intune more and make it equivalent to SCCM. Then, their product will be great in the market.""The product needs to upgrade itself when the server is overloaded.""Additional application deployment options e.g. MSI deployment with more complex parameters or additional side-by-side files, and non-MSI deployment options.""It would be great to see on-premises mailboxes and for the solution to have geofencing capabilities.""They should improve its compatibility with other operating systems such as iOS and Linux. It supports Linux but they still need to work on the iOS part.""They could also make it easier to use because there are some other products that may be easier to use in terms of the look and feel of the dashboard.""Intune should be much more granular in terms of supporting more Android cellular devices."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"One feature or improvement that would be awesome is some sort of mobile app from Jamf that can be used to alert admins of custom alerts.""I think it would be best if Jamf had support tiers.""An in-house chat room would be a great way to communicate with your team when you aren't physically present with them.""The integrated patch feature is good but needs some tweaking.""The upgrade process of this solutions could be improved. It is not possible to use Jamf Pro to upgrade devices.""I'm not exactly sure where it could be improved off the top of my head, but there is room for improvement.""For Windows, we have a reset option. We'd that option available for Mac.""I'd like to see Jamf add Unified Endpoint Management, but it's not going to happen. It's too complex. We tried that for so many years, and no one can do this for Windows and macOS. It can be done with iOS, but that's not the case here. If you want device management for a real laptop operating system, you need two systems. They're very different."

More Jamf Pro Cons →

"For Sophos Mobile, it is difficult to get good support.""Our support reps are based in the Philippines, and it's hard to connect with them sometimes. It took me about two months to resolve my issue, so it wasn't a good experience.""In terms of what could be improved, the initial configuration and setup of the environment could probably be made a little bit easier. There are so many pieces that go into it. Intune is absolutely insane and Sophos is better, but it still is a bit complex to get it all set up correctly.""The setup should be made easier.""There may be necessary adjustments that need to be made because we are facing certain restrictions within the work profile.""We have experienced issues in updating iOS devices when we set a minimum version requirement policy, and we do not have the option to force automatic installation. This means that the device must be supervised in order for updates to be applied, which we would like to see improved.""It could be more secure.""They continue to work on integration with mobile device management and mobile security. They are improving the protection but I think that the capabilities still need to be enhanced."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."

    Reviews from Real Users

Jamf Pro stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Some of these include its app deployment, its easy installation, and the fact that it’s lightweight but powerful. PeerSpot users take note of the advantages of these features in their reviews:

An IT Support Specialist at Visby Medical writes, “The first most valuable feature I found was the ability to simply push out applications to devices, Mac or iPads/iPhones. It's as easy as procuring the licensing for the apps and then setting it to the volume purchasing back in Jamf.”

Another reviewer, a Desktop Engineer at Kroger, notes, “The self-service portal to share scripts and other tasks that have extremely minimized the need for calls to our support teams, or even sharing the applications we package and allowing users to pick and choose what apps they need or want, instead of just blanket installing everything from our old environment.”

Sophos Mobile is a Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) and security solution that helps businesses spend less time and effort to manage and secure traditional and mobile endpoints. The only UEM solution that integrates natively with a leading next-gen endpoint security platform, Sophos Mobile supports management of Windows 10, macOS, iOS, and Android devices.
