We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The data entry point is most valuable. The way we can customize our report or do data entry is very good.""The EPM is the most valuable feature.""The system is quite flexible. Based on our requirements, we create different cubes that can help us to do complete planning.""We can configure and have complete freedom while creating solutions.""The solution is quick with analysis and calculation. The tool offers high digitalization which helps us to run the controlling department with less number of people. If the software wasn't there, I would need two to three people extra to run the department.""The main strength of Jedox lies in mastering the navigation, especially the Excel add-in.""We use the tool for performance management and planning.""The solution is very versatile."

"The best thing about this solution is that it is very user friendly. It is interactive in terms of visualizations. It is very eye-catching, and it attracts users. There are a lot of options to visualize the data in different drafts and views. I have used different visualization tools, and I found Power BI to be more efficient in terms of performance, user-friendliness, and ease of use.""One of the most valuable features of Power BI is the ease of use. It is comfortable and there is not a steep learning curve for this solution. If you have some idea of the data and basic visualization ideas, you can use this solution comfortably.""I liked that Microsoft Power BI handles a large amount of data. I can handle hundreds of rows from Postgres in a few minutes. I also like how it detects the relationship between the tables without explicitly saying that. It just detects the relationship automatically. That made it easier to work with the data.""Microsoft BI's initial setup is very straightforward.""I like all the tools in Microsoft BI because they all have different purposes. There are a lot of people using Microsoft BI, and everybody is using it. The users have adapted well to the technology.""The visualization and reporting are the most valuable features of this solution.""The solution is easy to use.""I've seen no issues with BI's stability."

Cons
"I don't find it particularly user-friendly.""From a development perspective, there's room for improvement in the area called the designer, where you actually build your reports to make it easier to manage the process.""More emphasis is needed on the availability of the learning aspect of the solution. Because unless you take up their course that enables you to be an expert in creating the report, you must seek help.""There is not much training for Jedox.""Jedox should improve the design and server issues.""The solution should enable a modern look and feel in the front end.""Being an analytical solution, it should have more visualization options like graphs. When we are putting it, it should have more options. The UI can be made more modernized based on today's market. Sometimes, when we are doing heavy reports or dashboarding, there is a bit of a performance issue because it is pulling up a huge amount of data. That can be improvised by buffer memory and getting some buffer memory feature into it. It is a bit complex because it is a CPM solution. It helps you to get the information based on the different tools that we are using, which is a bit of a complex thing. It is not as easy as Microsoft Power BI. It is also not that easy as an implementation piece. It takes time to convert the business requirement into the proper solutions in the tool, which is time-consuming. It took about eight months to do the complete implementation. We got some training from the partner and the Jedox team, which helped us later on in pulling things forward, but too much learning is required, and too many possibilities are there.""Online pixel-perfect reporting is an aspect that has room for improvement."

More Jedox Cons →

"Most clients have MacBooks. Therefore, they use Tableau as Power BI Desktop is not available for the MacBook right now.""I have a little problem with Synapse Analytics because it's very new. It's a product that has many capabilities, but it is not very well developed. I have to see the list of permissions from one object. I can't do this in Synapse. I have to search on the web for a solution because I don't have the tool for it.""People without private emails cannot publish and, frankly, this doesn't allow for easy training.""Power BI shows reports on actual data, not metadata.""I would like to be able to use more predicting data science features without having to use R.""I would like for there to be some type of user manual that shows steps on how to navigate the solution.""For someone who is new, I think that Power BI can be a little complicated.""The only concern I have faced with Microsoft BI is the time it takes to find out an issue and rectify it."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "If you are using SAP, then you will have to take an SAP Connector license. The license across the tool is paying for the people who are using it as an admin or as a normal user. They can work out those costs in a manner that can help. This can also be a point of improvement where they can work out the costing, and the developers have a specific licensing cost. The normal users, who are going to do probably data entry or just going to view the dashboard, can have a separate license cost."
  • "We paid a one-time fee, which included product purchase, licensing, and first-time implementation. We are paying for the maintenance regularly."
  • "Excellent value for money."
  • "The solution's pricing is specific to your requirements."
  • "The product’s pricing will not be suitable for setting up a small solution."
  • "Jedox was a bit cheaper compared to Calumo."

  • "There is room for at least 45% discount as compared to the initial price."
  • "MS BI comes with all the tools and it is, to the best of my knowledge, the most affordable solution."
  • "All in all, for the price, this is an excellent tool for helping your organization turn mounds of data into useful insights."
  • "I would advise that Microsoft BI products are rightly priced and the licensing is easy to follow and to fulfill."
  • "Remove the cost of a licence to show a dashboard within SharePoint. Why should readers of a dashboard have to pay to view? "
  • "Make it low in cost. It is a no-brainer!"
  • "Globally, we evaluated a number of products, including Salesforce's product, Microsoft won on the ground of simple functionally and cost."
  • "Paid for itself in the first month."
