Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The technical support is very good.""I find it useful to utilize LDAP query action to find out the status of a particular user.""Out of box connectivity with UiPath.""I really like the visual representation. It actually looks like a flow chart, which is nicer than a SharePoint Designer workflow, which doesn't have that ability.""I think that it adds value to any organization, mainly in terms of business applications where you need workflows.""This tool is really helpful in reducing a lot of manual work. Its drag and drop components help to create a workflow faster than SharePoint Workflow Designer.""Allows us to provide desktop/laptop and mobile solutions to our users.""The workflow engine of K2 is its main strength. Its workflow engine is probably one of the best, and that's the reason why Nintex bought K2. It can clearly handle any complex process or scenario. K2 is almost low-code. It is a no-code or low-code solution. You don't have to read a whole lot of code. It is pretty much GUI based. Their support is also excellent. The biggest advantage of K2 is SmartObjects, which allow you to separate the data from the application. It is a standalone application that allows you to build a data source from different places, which a lot of other applications also do. It is called SmartObjects technology, which is pretty powerful. If I have data from different applications, such as JD and ServiceNow, I can just create a SmartObject based on a data source and use it. I have some forms that have six, seven, or eight applications in a single form with data from different places."

"The product has a strong and easy integration with Teams.""OpenText 360's best features are platform independence and its performance when searching large numbers of documents.""The fact that it allows for the internal sharing of information is very good.""The most valuable feature of OpenText 360 for SharePoint is its performance. The solution is one of the best in the market if you search the internet.""This solution has good connection and we do not need to migrate everything in order to protect the repository.""The collaborative environment for long-term archival or record management is great.""The most valuable features are collaboration, traceability, retention of documents, and search.""It has a lot of flexibility, and Microsoft does come up with some new additions from time to time."

Cons
"Currently, it's taking quite some time to deploy a package, it needs improvement""The tool lacks to offer support for the Arabic language, and it needs consideration.""There have been some glitches, and the workflow fails frequently.""Unfortunately, Nintex Workflow is not that stable. We are looking at shifting to another tool.""The product’s support for the mobile platform and its ability to handle artificial loads could be better.""At times, issues arise in certain scenarios. In such cases, the versioning can become quite difficult. There may be no other way but to restart the entire process or rectify it at that point.""We'd like to have integration with SharePoint.""I think it was lacking a little bit in its multiple in-house processes and other processes. So there is a little bit of a gap in collaboration."

"We have a very good time to market tool, and the development platform should be made user-friendly. Mostly, it's just support.""Integration is an area where the solution lacks.""I would like for there to be even more integrations in the next release and I believe that the price could go down a bit.""The user interface could definitely be improved.""If I have to really create an internal knowledge management portal, if I have to compare SharePoint and WordPress, WordPress is far, far better in regard to the SharePoint option.""An area for improvement would be how the platform handles large volumes of documents. It also doesn't provide a very good, robust backup and restore capacity. In the next release, I would like the search technology to be improved.""OpenText 360 is generally stable, though there are sometimes issues with document size or format.""The platform's workflows could be more intuitive and easier to use."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Nintex products are expensive, but valuable. Licensing in on-premise was historically based on a perpetual model, where you’d license per Web front-end. However, they are switching exclusively to a consumption (subscription) model, where you purchase the number of workflows you think you’ll use in your environment, and can scale up from there."
  • "Offering a licensing model that allows for multiple small workflows would be a huge improvement to an already great platform."
  • "Our maintenance costs are reduced."
  • "The annual support costs are expensive."
  • "Comparatively, it's expensive."
  • "We pay on a yearly basis. It's my understanding that we pay approximately $11,000/year."
  • "The initial investment in K2 is heavy. Currently, the expenditure is $28,000 for a year. After we go to the cloud, it is going to be per seat and probably cheaper. Currently, there are unlimited users."
  • "There is an initial fee when purchasing and a fee for maintenance afterward."

  • "Its price is reasonable, but its licensing is very complex. This platform contains a number of pieces, and you have to be an expert in reading all the conditions in the license. They should simplify its licensing."
  • "On-premises version is expensive"
  • "SharePoint uses a subscription model."
  • "There is a license needed to use OpenText 360 for SharePoint and we pay annually. The price of the solution could be less expensive."
  • "OpenText 360's price varies depending on how long you've been a customer, how many licenses you have, and which products you use."
  • "The solution has a very complex pricing model."
  • "Pricing is a part of the enterprise agreement that we have."
