Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The most valuable feature is the scheduling.""We can share, discuss, and develop the model together — from a distance. It's really helped us during these times of isolation.""The number of client implementations and cross-language capabilities to support multiple frameworks is very pluggable compared to Pega. It's also more portable.""Being able to use a Java-based solution makes the product flexible.""It is open-source. It supports microservice orchestration. This is what we are really interested in. We can customize our products depending on the use cases.""It has an open BPM""There's this graphic that tells you how many lines or how many tickets are in each step. In that way, you know where you stand. I find this feature very valuable.""Easy to use and easy to integrate into the products and applications we provide for our customers."

"Out of box connectivity with UiPath.""Easily maintained and customization is quite simple.""The workflow engine of K2 is its main strength. Its workflow engine is probably one of the best, and that's the reason why Nintex bought K2. It can clearly handle any complex process or scenario. K2 is almost low-code. It is a no-code or low-code solution. You don't have to read a whole lot of code. It is pretty much GUI based. Their support is also excellent. The biggest advantage of K2 is SmartObjects, which allow you to separate the data from the application. It is a standalone application that allows you to build a data source from different places, which a lot of other applications also do. It is called SmartObjects technology, which is pretty powerful. If I have data from different applications, such as JD and ServiceNow, I can just create a SmartObject based on a data source and use it. I have some forms that have six, seven, or eight applications in a single form with data from different places.""The most valuable features of this solution are that it's no code, it's very flexible, and it's easy to design.""The solution offers very good integration capabilities. We've never had issues integrating it without solutions.""The integration capabilities have been very useful."

"I really like the visual representation. It actually looks like a flow chart, which is nicer than a SharePoint Designer workflow, which doesn't have that ability.""It has integration with BI and Analytics tools, and RPA toolsets as well.""The SharePoint feature is a really good connection, there are many features that are good."

Cons
"The initial set up could be simplified, it's complex.""The support definitely can be improved. Apart from that, the language should be extendable to other platforms. If I want to write, I'll run a different platform, like Python code on top of it, or COBOL code on top of it, and it should support those languages.""The solution could use some enhancements like adding connectors, improving forms and having a mobile app, but everything is an enhancement rather than a flaw.""When trying to design rule tables the solutions graphical user interface could improve, it could be more user friendly.""I don't like the UI of the Camunda Platform, I have found the Signavio solution to be much better for me to create the process designs and execute them. Additionally, I have found the tools in the Camunda Platform are not compatible with some of my other tools. They should improve this in the future.""I would like to see better pricing.""Process interfaces between diagrams could be improved.""Lacking in forms visualization."

More Camunda Platform Cons »

"Heavy, cumbersome and inflexible.""Currently, it's taking quite some time to deploy a package, it needs improvement""The licensing needs to be improved. Right now, we find it's getting more expensive to use the product.""K2 is a workflow solution, and there is no RPA solution with K2. This is where K2 lacks a little bit. It is just a heavy workflow solution. It doesn't have a supplemental product like RPA. If you want to use RPA, you have to use Blue Prism, UIPath, or something else. If you use Nintex, it has an RPA solution. It is a form-based application, and they are doing everything electronically. The initial investment in K2 is heavy because it is a BPM software. It does not have a low cost because they charge you the same for one workflow or 100 workflows.""Difficult to include external partners with the solution deployed on-premise.""The Workflow Designer needs improvement."

More K2 Cons »

"Unfortunately, Nintex Workflow is not that stable. We are looking at shifting to another tool.""We would like to design parallel workflows and long-running workflows, along with new features for connecting to cloud-based systems.""The interface could be better and more language support is needed in the development environment or in the solutions platform in general.""The solution is a bit too expensive. It could be cheaper."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"We have an annual subscription to this solution.""Licensing costs are anywhere from $80,000 to $100,000 USD per year.""The open-source version of the product is free to use.""We use the open-source version, which can be used at no cost.""I think Camunda BPM can improve their licensing costs. It isn't easy to find clients with Camunda BPM licenses mainly because it's quite expensive.""When compared with the proprietary products, the pricing costs are much less, even though it is an enterprise edition.""There is an open-source version available, that in its core features (workflow and decision engine, modeler) is exactly the same as in the enterprise version.""We pay for the license of this solution annually."

"There is an initial fee when purchasing and a fee for maintenance afterward.""The initial investment in K2 is heavy. Currently, the expenditure is $28,000 for a year. After we go to the cloud, it is going to be per seat and probably cheaper. Currently, there are unlimited users."

"We pay on a yearly basis. It's my understanding that we pay approximately $11,000/year.""Comparatively, it's expensive.""The price of this solution is affordable but the problem in Algeria is our community is a bit slower. The new clients might feel the solution is a bit expensive."
