We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution helped us automate several processes we used to do manually.""It has integration with BI and Analytics tools, and RPA toolsets as well.""The Vizio-style designer that runs in the browser is, to me, by far the most valuable feature of the solution. It means that the customer doesn’t have to install any client tools to create powerful workflows.""It is very easy to use events. K2 has useful tools.""The most valuable features of this solution are that it's no code, it's very flexible, and it's easy to design.""I like the feature of getting an email for a workflow error, then I do not have to go through every instance.""The solution has helped us to automate our business processes, our approval systems, and automation for quickly developing on SharePoint on-prem and SharePoint online.""The workflow engine of K2 is its main strength. Its workflow engine is probably one of the best, and that's the reason why Nintex bought K2. It can clearly handle any complex process or scenario. K2 is almost low-code. It is a no-code or low-code solution. You don't have to read a whole lot of code. It is pretty much GUI based. Their support is also excellent. The biggest advantage of K2 is SmartObjects, which allow you to separate the data from the application. It is a standalone application that allows you to build a data source from different places, which a lot of other applications also do. It is called SmartObjects technology, which is pretty powerful. If I have data from different applications, such as JD and ServiceNow, I can just create a SmartObject based on a data source and use it. I have some forms that have six, seven, or eight applications in a single form with data from different places."

"It is a low-code platform, that is very intuitive.""The low-code tools and business process management that Creatio provides are useful for our internal processes. It is also very easy to use.""The most valuable features are performance, built-in variety of multiple task automation, and has international standards notations.""The pre-configured CRM functionalities regarding the accounts management and contact activities is very good. It's easy to develop workflows.""The business process management is definitely the most valuable feature. What Creatio ended up doing with their software solution is giving you the power, in your own hands, in a way that is incredibly intuitive and well-structured.""Studio Creatio is a very good and complete solution. It is very stable, and for customers who need a good response time, in the public cloud, Creatio provides the possibility to have a private server for a high level of transactions and good response time. Their support is great. They are very good, and they know the solution very well. Their response time is also great.""Creatio also provides us with scalability, performance and agility.""The most valuable features of the solution are its CRM functionality and the fact that it is a no-code solution"

Cons
"The license pricing is too high currently for Nintex Workflow.""The security features for this solution need to be improved.""The solution does not integrate with many platforms.""It's very tedious to manage.""We cannot use the same solution on cloud.""Difficult to include external partners with the solution deployed on-premise.""The tool lacks to offer support for the Arabic language, and it needs consideration.""While Nintex Workflow has pretty robust troubleshooting abilities, I think that improving the default logging and notifications would be helpful."

"It does not have the ability to run one single large process.""Numerous options can make implementation confusing.""Studio Creatio is a new product in the market, making its lack of maturity an area of concern.""The way bpm's infrastructure works, you can only have one data source on a page. It has to be connected to the object and you're pretty much locked in at that point... If you want to connect anything other than what exists in that object to that object, you're going to have to create a completely new home for it in that object.""Creatio needs to stabilize their marketplace.""HRM is an area where Studio Creatio lacks and needs to improve.""The solution does not allow extensive customization of the UI. I would like to have much more control over the UI when I build a process. Currently on the UI where the fields are placed and the layout is set in place and you cannot change it. Your experience is going to be the same throughout whatever use case that you are building from customer to customer. You can not have much control over how it looks for each customer. This is an area where they can improve on.""The mobile version of the solution could be improved. It's hard to customize it."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Nintex products are expensive, but valuable. Licensing in on-premise was historically based on a perpetual model, where you’d license per Web front-end. However, they are switching exclusively to a consumption (subscription) model, where you purchase the number of workflows you think you’ll use in your environment, and can scale up from there."
  • "Offering a licensing model that allows for multiple small workflows would be a huge improvement to an already great platform."
  • "Our maintenance costs are reduced."
  • "The annual support costs are expensive."
  • "Comparatively, it's expensive."
  • "We pay on a yearly basis. It's my understanding that we pay approximately $11,000/year."
  • "The initial investment in K2 is heavy. Currently, the expenditure is $28,000 for a year. After we go to the cloud, it is going to be per seat and probably cheaper. Currently, there are unlimited users."
  • "There is an initial fee when purchasing and a fee for maintenance afterward."

  • "From my standpoint, it blows out of the water all the other competitors out there that we were potentially looking at, and it was in a reasonable price range, whereas you have these other Fortune 500 companies that were asking for a ridiculous amount."
  • "There is a license required for this solution."
  • "The pricing plans are not user-friendly because in many cases you have to buy different options to get additional features."
  • "I rate the pricing a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive."
  • "It is fairly competitive."
  • "I rate the product price a five or six on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
