We performed a comparison between Kaseya VSA and Quest KACE Systems Management based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Patch Management solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The solution was scalable."
"Being able to connect to client computers without them necessarily needing to be there and being able to put in the patches and manage different information systems is valuable."
"The remote management is quite good. Also, the patch management and service desk are great features of the solution."
"The most valuable feature of Kaseya VSA is the ability to control laptops remotely."
"The patching is very efficient and we can rely on the alerts that we receive."
"The most valuable part of this solution is the security features that it offers."
"I like the Live Connect module provided by Kaseya. It is a powerful module. I also like the Agent Procedure module. We work with it most of the time."
"The remote support is the most valuable aspect of the solution."
"The ability to push an image to a machine, wake that image up, and just blast a new image to a computer without even having to touch it, and then push the software to that machine. This just made things so much more convenient for us and so much more efficient."
"KACE’s knowledge-based articles are very good."
"The single pane of glass for managing devices is helpful because it allows me to perform updates and control things without having to disturb the doctors or nurses."
"The big pros of Quest KACE Systems Management are its simple interface, and simple, direct management. It's very easy to maintain and manage the device, and it's easy to get it up and running. You can have it up and running in an hour..."
"KACE has made our life much easier since we got off the Microsoft solution. The Microsoft solution was a lot harder to image over different ports and stuff. They would only have this one place where we could do all the imaging. Now, we have a whole building where we can image from. This means that we can image from our storage area, where we have a place to do our imaging. We can also image right at our desks, which is a lot easier."
"Patching is definitely the most valuable feature. It gives us good, centralized software, which comes in very handy since we are doing 400 servers at a time. It enables us to manage all the servers, and to deal with the application team regarding reboots and scheduling."
"You don't have to be an advanced user. Rather, in terms of ease of use, this product is right where it needs to be."
"This product made the job easy to do without having to go put hands on the machines."
"It never functioned as intended."
"The technical support of the solution is an area with shortcomings that needs improvement."
"The agent-based monitoring solution can be improved."
"Sometimes, the product misinterprets the functionality of a machine."
"I would like to see improved virtual infrastructure management."
"The audit and KNM tools could improve."
"Its scripting language kind of sucked. They have their own version of PowerShell inside VSA. if you want to reach out and grab endpoint information, for instance, to know how many end devices have a program installed, you actually have to write a script for that. It wasn't like how it is in CrowdStrike where you can just do a search, and it just happened. In VSA, you have to write your own script to do it. In terms of new features, an integrated MDM for mobile devices would be awesome."
"The solution is hard to use at first until you understand how it works."
"We had issues with the tool's support. We are a Dutch firm and everything has to be in Dutch. We were not able to do the alerts. You were required to tweak them a lot to get them in the language that you preferred. The solution's support depended on the person that you got online. Sometimes, the response was fast and other times you needed to wait a long time. The support also depended on the levels of support that you had requested."
"Sometimes the information is not as real time as it's supposed to be."
"I would like them to implement VBScript language in KACE Systems Management. Currently, we can only use PowerShell."
"The customization of the interface needs improvement for things like end user tickets. While the functionality is good, some of that UI stuff does need improvement."
"The GUI needs some work. I love all that it can do, however, it can be just be so cluttered at times."
"I would like for there to be improvement when it comes to Microsoft and Windows updates. It has the ability to do it but the control of it is not there like I have in the Windows Server Update Services. The way KACE does it is still very granular. You don't really see the process like it is in the Windows Server Update Services. I think that would be one of the biggest things that I would like to see KACE really put some work into and really make that a big enhancement."
"I think it should have the ability to have the applications automatically update. It would be really helpful if this would override what the user might choose to do."
"Its dashboard needs improvement. Currently, there is no way to modify the dashboard. There should be more flexibility so that we can create views according to our use case."
