Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The stability is very good.""It is stable and scalable.""The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers.""Additionally, when it comes to EDR, there are more tools available to assist with client work.""The solution was relatively easy to deploy.""I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks.""Fortinet FortiEDR's scalability is quite good, and you can add licenses to the solution.""The main thing is that I feel safe. Because the processes that have been used to get a handle on the attackers are much better than other competitors"

"Encryption is the most valuable feature. It creates an encryption tunnel from your location to the delivery address.""It is a scalable solution...It is a stable solution.""The most valuable feature is Endpoint's management.""The solution provides high-end security that is critical for financial institutions and bankers.""It's scalable enough for us.""The most valuable feature of Kaspersky EDR is its simplicity. The console is easy to use and not very complex.""We particularly appreciate how scalable this solution is, as we often need to increase our end-user numbers.""The product is very easy to use."

"It helps us with investigations.""Drilling down further, we can analyze how our users are utilizing their workstations, including the websites they visit.""We haven't had any issues with configurations or customizations.""VisionOne offers a clear window into the security posture of our endpoints.""XDR provided a much more deep view into what is actually happening.""I like that it is a comprehensive security solution with a lot of features. You can say XDR is an end-to-end security solution with endpoint security. It includes all your servers, networks, and other devices. The endpoint security solution does not cover this. Plus, machine learning and features like that are the main things in XDR solutions.""What I like the most about Trend Micro XDR is that the detection and response domain extends to the network. It goes beyond the endpoint and includes data about the network which lets you pinpoint patient zero as well as the root cause of the attack.""It helps a lot to understand where the threat is coming from, where is it going, how is it being dealt with, et cetera."

Cons
"Integration with Azure and SaaS provisioning tools could improve Fortinet FortiEDR.""Once, we had an event that was locked and blocked, but information about it came to us two or three days later.""Detections could be improved.""The EDR console should have more extensive reporting. You shouldn't need to purchase FortiAnalyzer. It should be included in the EDR part. The security adviser cloud platform could be improved with more options for exclusive or intensive rules for devices.""There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors.""The security should be strong for the cloud. Some applications are on-prem and some are on the cloud. Fortinet should also have strong security for the cloud. There should be more security for the cloud.""FortiEDR can be improved by providing more detailed reporting.""To improve Fortinet, we need to see more features and technology areas at the endpoint level introduced."

"The issue with Kaspersky EDR is the sandbox. I'd like to have the ability to manage it on the cloud as well.""Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Expert needs to include a traffic interface.""I would like to integrate Kaspersky with my Log Collector SIEM. Right now that's not possible.""There's room for improvement in customer service and support. The response time when I open a ticket or communicate with the vendor could be faster.""It is not easy to follow the kill chain of a potential infection or malware.""The solution could always be more secure.""There is a problem with the solution, it came from Russia and we are looking for a replacement.""The main problem with Endpoint is that Kaspersky is a Russian company, and my clients prefer not to use it."

More Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Expert Cons →

"It would be better if it were more user-friendly. It would also be better if the implementation were more straightforward.""The support has been delayed at times.""While blocking an IP address restricts access for 30 days, it eventually becomes accessible again.""Reporting could be a little bit better. They are working on it, and it is getting better.""It should integrate with more tools. There are a lot of tools that can do the PTP dump.""They should increase their potential for third-party integrations.""We'd like to see a few more integrations.""The area for improvement is mobile security. We have just finished a proof of concept for Zero Trust Secure Access. We withdrew from this PoC because it does not have that many points for proxy across Europe. Our organization is across Europe... At this time, they are only located in Germany and the UK."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
