Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The pricing of the solution is quite good.""The product provides end-to-end solutions for different business problems.""The most valuable feature is the robotic process.""The product provided all the security controls that we asked them.""The most valuable features are workflow and process automation.""Kofax handles UIs via the browser well. If it's not possible, they have other features like modeling screen scrapes, etc.""The product saves time and resources.""The OCR was quite stable and flexible."

"The scraping for data extraction is very important. There is also a connection with all Microsoft tools, like Outlook, Excel, Word, et cetera. And OCR, the Document Understanding feature, is important because we have clients that ask us to read data from scanned documents.""I love it for the deep artificial intelligence that it has. It has the AI to recognize the processes, analyze all the workflows through user interactions, and discover automation opportunities. It is very intelligent in these aspects.""UiPath has saved the company costs.""UiPath is much easier to learn than other tools. Its interface is not that complicated. It is very user-friendly.""The most valuable feature is automating tasks that are highly repetitive, such as Accounts Payable. It is also easy to use.""UiPath's most valuable feature is Orchestrator.""We have found it to be quite valuable as we actively deploy and use bots, which have become a significant asset to our operations.""UiPath support is amazing."

Cons
"Exception handling needs to be improved.""RPA technology is constantly changing, and sometimes Kofax lags behind.""The interface could be better from a usability standpoint.""The technical support must be improved.""This product has room for improvement in support of aviation. The interface could be improved in the next release.""We are on version 10.6, and the current version seems to be 11. Kofax is cycling the capabilities of the product very quickly. One of the difficulties has been to actually keep up with the capabilities as they've evolved. On the one hand, it is good that the product is getting better, but on the other hand, it is difficult to implement the best way with a product that is evolving constantly.""The product should improve desktop automation, which is hard to configure. It needs to have custom connectors. It is the only advantage that Microsoft Power Platform has over Kofax RPA. It has more than 800 custom connectors.""I would like to see them further enhance the OCR, specifically in the multi-language support."

More Tungsten RPA Cons →

"UiPath can probably work on improving the AI features. We tried UiPath's AI functionality in our automation program. We did some research on that, but right now, nothing is in production. When we did some research, we weren't getting the expected results. We weren't completely satisfied with the results, so we put it aside. It could be a drawback on our side in terms of learning the tool.""We are doing automation to take care of all our processes, but we still need support people 24/7 to monitor these jobs. So, human intervention is still there. We have two people monitoring these automations 24/7 because there are still some challenges with the automation.""Some of the licenses, such as for Document Understanding, are a little bit expensive, and we hope that they will reduce the prices over time. Apart from this, I don't have anything to improve.""The cognitive capabilities of UiPath are pretty time-consuming. If that can be improved, it would help a lot.""I have trouble understanding the machine learning and AI components, so I would like it to be easier to understand how and what to do with them.""On-premises deployment of UiPath requires a significant amount of RAM for optimal performance.""The data team support that provides the UI and the chat services has room for improvement.""The emailing and integration with self-service BI systems are areas that need improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The normal price for an on-premises license is €50,000. That's the price for one robot license. You can have more than one robot license but only one can be run at any one time. I believe the cost of adding a second robot is around €14,000."
  • "Price is not a problem, because they are a competitor and we have a special rate."
  • "I don't have complete insight at this point in time, but I would guess that Kofax is a lot less expensive than Automation Anywhere. I would expect its license to be on a yearly basis."
  • "Its pricing is reasonable given the product capabilities. Kofax has a wide range of products, and it can sometimes be confusing to understand which capabilities come with which product set. One of the key facets that we've been looking into recently is cognitive document recognition that was a core pile of some of their other technologies such as Kofax transformation modules (KTM)."
  • "Kofax's prices are pretty reasonable."
  • "There is a standard license needed to use Kofax RPA and the price is reasonable."
  • "Kofax RPA is moderately priced but expensive in comparison to UiPath and Power Automate."
  • "I give the price of the solution a six out of ten."

  • "It costs much less and it does much more than the competitors' solutions."
  • "The pricing differs on the requirements. If there is a huge purchase, then we get a discount. There is not a fixed pricing of the product."
  • "If you want to do a demo trial, it is a 30 days free."
  • "The community edition is completely free. Then, people say, "There is nothing to lose, let me try it.""
  • "There are operational benefits in terms of time savings and user satisfaction of not having to do menial, repetitive tasks."
  • "Traditionally, Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism are the biggest things competing against UiPath. Those are usually what most of the clients lean towards, if they see a cheaper licensing option. Clients choose UiPath because it's easier to deploy and learn within their teams."
  • "We saw ROI in 15 days."
  • "They give it away in the community edition for free, so I use it at home."
