"Being able to build and modify dashboards on the fly with Activeboards streamlines my analyst time because my analysts aren't doing it across spreadsheets or five different tools to try to build a timeline out themselves. They can just ingest it all, build a timeline out across all the logging, and all the different information sources in one dashboard. So, it's a huge time saver. It also has the accuracy of being able to look at all those data sources in one view. The log analysis, which would take 40 hours, we can probably get through it in about five to eight hours using Devo."
"Even if it's a relatively technical tool or platform, it's very intuitive and graphical. It's very appealing in terms of the user interface. The UI has a graphically interface with the raw data in a table. The table can be as big as you want it, depending on your use case. You can easily get a report combining your data, along with calculations and graphical dashboards. You don't need a lot of training, because the UI is relatively very intuitive."
"The ability to have high performance, high-speed search capability is incredibly important for us. When it comes to doing security analysis, you don't want to be doing is sitting around waiting to get data back while an attacker is sitting on a network, actively attacking it. You need to be able to answer questions quickly. If I see an indicator of attack, I need to be able to rapidly pivot and find data, then analyze it and find more data to answer more questions. You need to be able to do that quickly. If I'm sitting around just waiting to get my first response, then it ends up moving too slow to keep up with the attacker. Devo's speed and performance allows us to query in real-time and keep up with what is actually happening on the network, then respond effectively to events."
"The real-time analytics of security-related data are super. There are a lot of data feeds going into it and it's very quick at pulling up and correlating the data and showing you what's going on in your infrastructure. It's fast. The way that their architecture and technology works, they've really focused on the speed of query results and making sure that we can do what we need to do quickly. Devo is pulling back information in a fast fashion, based on real-time events."
"The user interface is really modern. As an end-user, there are a lot of possibilities to tailor the platform to your needs, and that can be done without needing much support from Devo. It's really flexible and modular. The UI is very clean."
"One of the biggest features of the UI is that you see the actual code of what you're doing in the graphical user interface, in a little window on the side. Whatever you're doing, you see the code, what's happening. And you can really quickly switch between using the GUI and using the code. That's really useful."
"The thing that Devo does better than other solutions is to give me the ability to write queries that look at multiple data sources and run fast. Most SIEMs don't do that. And I can do that by creating entity-based queries. Let's say I have a table which has Okta, a table which has G Suite, a table which has endpoint telemetry, and I have a table which has DNS telemetry. I can write a query that says, 'Join all these things together on IP, and where the IP matches in all these tables, return to me that subset of data, within these time windows.' I can break it down that way."
"The user experience [is] well thought out and the workflows are logical. The dashboards are intuitive and highly customizable."
"The most valuable feature is the UI because I find it very easy to navigate and you see everything with graphs."
"The most valuable feature is the alerting and that everything is automatic so we don't have to work at onboarding customers. That means the product is ready for usage and there is very little configuration. We just need to insert the basic information of the device and monitoring will start working right away. That's definitely one of the very best features of the product."
"One of the things that I really like about the LogicMonitor solution is that it has a whole bunch of things, data points, that it can monitor. They're called DataSources, and it has an amazing amount of devices it can monitor that are pre-built into the system You can customize them if you need to. You can change the thresholds and a whole bunch of different things with them. You can even create brand new ones if you need to, if the built-in data sources don't satisfy your requirements for the technology that you want to monitor."
"The solution also has a variety of dashboards... They actually have a repository of a whole bunch of different ones, which is really nice... what's really cool is that you can grant somebody access to a dashboard without giving them full access to the rest of the system. You can provide a really nice, high-level dashboard to your executive team, so they can see what is, red, green, or yellow, without having to really get into the nitty-gritty of the technology..."
"We explored a couple of other products as well. None of the other products had a customer engagement team like LogicMonitor does."
"The quick to build monitoring dashboards are the most valuable aspect of it because of the speed at which you can produce dashboards, which have a huge amount of information, across multiple sites. We use a lot of 0-based dashboards or dashboards that give us information about how our infrastructure is performing. The amount of insight that we can gain from a 30-second glance at a dashboard and a very clear view of how the infrastructure is working around the planet are good."
"The solution has reduced our number of false positives compared to how many we were getting with other monitoring platforms. The fine tuning in LogicMonitor is one of the best features. Sometimes you install monitoring systems and they have a lot of chatter. You plug them in and suddenly your inbox is full with irrelevant information, whereas LogicMonitor is better at this out-of-the-box."
"The alerting and the customized alerting are the most valuable features. We can set thresholds at multiple levels to alert us to issues that might start happening before they happen."
"Moogsoft is easily deployable and ready to use."
"The AI component allows you to check previous cases and diagnose problems easily."

"Their documentation could be better. They are growing quickly and need to have someone focused on tech writing to ensure that all the different updates, how to use them, and all the new features and functionality are properly documented."
"There's always room to reduce the learning curve over how to deal with events and machine data. They could make the machine data simpler."
"There is room for improvement in the ability to parse different log types. The breadth of overall log parsers that exists right now is an area that they could improve. Natively, there's more that could be done by Devo then what it can and can't understand from a parsing perspective."
"Devo has a lot of cloud connectors, but they need to do a little bit of work there. They've got good integrations with the public cloud, but there are a lot of cloud SaaS systems that they still need to work with on integrations, such as Salesforce and other SaaS providers where we need to get access logs."
"The Activeboards feature is not as mature regarding the look and feel. Its functionality is mature, but the look and feel is not there. For example, if you have some data sets and are trying to get some graphics, you cannot change anything. There's just one format for the graphics. You cannot change the size of the font, the font itself, etc."
"There's room for improvement within the GUI. There is also some room for improvement within the native parsers they support. But I can say that about pretty much any solution in this space."
"Some third-parties don't have specific API connectors built, so we had to work with Devo to get the logs and parse the data using custom parsers, rather than an out-of-the-box solution."
"Technical support could be better."
"The graphs are not intuitive and I think that they can be improved to help find issues faster."
"The reporting capabilities are okay but they are not perfect. There are some drawbacks in terms of differences between the information that can be found in the portal when compared to the reports themselves. We can see some of the information on the portal by clicking and navigating the menus, but if we want that same information within the reports it can be tricky, depending on the specific information we're talking about... the biggest disappointment is that reports haven't been developed in the last couple of years at all."
"With the email alerts that we get, it would be nice if the subject line were a little bit smaller, and if it showed the system that is out as the first thing. Sometimes you have to open the email to see what that is."
"Some of the dashboard capabilities are being extended. There are a few bits and pieces that they could do to make them even more flexible than what they are."
"It monitors most devices out-of-the-box, but not all. There is still improvement to be had in the devices that it monitors. It doesn't monitor some storage devices that we use, which is quite frustrating. It wasn't able to monitor Dell EMC Compellent Storage."
"The biggest area of improvement is with mobile. I'd love to see them improve the mobile app side. That's something I've mentioned to them on multiple occasions. It's one thing to be sitting in front of my computer when a problem or an alert comes up."
"One thing I would like to see is parent/child relationships and the ability to build a "suppression parent/child." For example, If I know that a top gateway is offline and I can't talk to it anymore, and anything that's connected below it or to it is also going to be offline, there is no need to alarm on those. In that situation it should create one ticket or one alarm for the parent. I know they're working towards that with their mapping technology, but it's not quite to that level where you can build out alarm logic or a correlation logic like that."
"Reporting is definitely a weak area in LogicMonitor. There's just not as much flexibility as there is in other areas of the product. Some of this can be overcome by using the REST API, but more of it should be out-of-the-box."
"The documentation and flexibility for generic integration could be improved."
"I would like to see additional reports or information on the dashboard that includes metrics about CPU usage and memory."
"I would like to see how Moogsoft integrates with the multi-cloud and brings out a single pane of glass, to see everything on one screen."
"It's a per gigabyte cost for ingestion of data. For every gigabyte that you ingest, it's whatever you negotiated your price for. Compared to other contracts that we've had for cloud providers, it's significantly less."
"We have an OEM agreement with Devo. It is very similar to the standard licensing agreement because we are charged in the same way as any other customer, e.g., we use the backroom."
"We have seen ROI. We have seen cost savings in maintenance, upkeep, and support."
"I'm not involved in the financial aspect, but I think the licensing costs are similar to other solutions. If all the solutions have a similar cost, Devo provides more for the money."
"Devo is definitely cheaper than Splunk. There's no doubt about that. The value from Devo is good. It's definitely more valuable to me than QRadar or LogRhythm or any of the old, traditional SIEMs."
"[Devo was] in the ballpark with at least a couple of the other front-runners that we were looking at. Devo is a good value and, given the quality of the product, I would expect to pay more."
"LogicMonitor has the best licensing. That means we are only paying for a certain amount of devices and there is a single price per device and that's all. Other solutions rely much more on a license structure where you need to buy certain add-ons or features, depending on the number of devices you are trying to monitor with those features."
"Pricing seems to be on par with other solutions. For what we get, I think it's a very fair price."
"LogicMonitor is not the cheapest by any means, but it's also not the most expensive. From a licensing point of view, as far as we were aware, it's sort of middle of the road. It certainly has the value for money given the scale, time saved, and efficiencies that we've gained from it. It has been very worthwhile."
"We've not had any other costs as this is a cloud based solution. Therefore, you don't need much, if any, infrastructure to monitor. There are a few add-ons along with bits and pieces if you want to monitor certain types of infrastructure or clouds. It is then you might need an add-on. Largely, the costs are upfront and well-known."
"I am pretty sure that it is a one-off licensing fee with no hidden costs."
"It's affordable. The price we get per license is a lot cheaper than what we were getting with some of the other tools. There are other monitoring tools out there that are cheaper, but what you get with LogicMonitor, out-of-the-box, makes it worth the cost."
"It definitely pays for itself in the amount of time we're not spending with false errors or things that we haven't quite dealt with monitoring. It has been good cost-wise."
"I know we are saving at least several hundred thousand dollars in that we're not buying Cisco Prime."
