I wouldn't mind having that exposed within Sentinel. We do have situations where certain companies have bought licensing or have made an investment in a product, and that product will be there for the next two or three years. To be able to view information from those legacy products would be great. We can then better leverage the Sentinel solution and its capabilities.""They're giving us the queries so we can plug them right into Sentinel. They need to have a streamlined process for updating them in the tool and knowing when things are updated and knowing when there are new detections available from Microsoft.""Only one thing is missing: NDR is not available out-of-the-box. The competitive cloud-native SIEM providers have the NDR component. Currently, Sentinel needs NDR to be powered from either Corelight or some other NDR provider.""Sentinel could improve its ticketing and management. A few customers I have worked with liked to take the data created in Sentinel. You can make some basic efforts around that, but the customers wanted to push it to a third-party system so they could set up a proper ticketing management system, like ServiceNow, Jira, etc.""At the network level, there is a limitation in integrating some of the switches or routers with Microsoft Sentinel. "The installation was a bit complex because we are running a virtual infrastructure.""We've tried to work with a couple of engineering department guys there. We've called them and called them but we never hear anything back.""I think there is room for improvement because the system is still running on the Windows Server platform. The problem with running on Windows is that it is not that good for scaling and providing for big deployment environments.""One thing we have mentioned to them before is that we'd like to be able to do searches, or drill-downs, directly from an alarm. When you click it and the Inspector tab slides out, that might be a good place to be able to click the host to search for the last 24 hours. I know the search is right there but it would be even nicer to just click that and then have an option to search something there.""The initial setup is complex. We are using a LogRhythm partner, at least for the first three years, to help with the monitoring and the deployment of it. "Although there is documentation available, it is really hard for me to find relevant topics on what it is that I'm searching for.""Support is the bigger issue when we have a problem. When we need their help, it takes weeks or months to actually get resolved.""When one of my customers needs an app, and I am able to find that app on the Splunk base, I have to create a ticket and wait for five days for them to download the app into the cloud environment. That is probably one of the main things. It is painful because I have to wait to get that app in the cloud.""Splunk currently manages the components, which restricts our ability to access them directly.""Splunk Cloud could improve by having pre-defined templates. It has very good design views, but there is no predefined template. You have to define your own.
