    Lync Online is a communications application that delivers multiple channels for receiving,sending, and sharing data from one individual or group to another. Instant messaging, web conferencing, and screen sharing are a few of the communication methods used within this service. Based on a cloud commuting system, Lync Online can connect members of a team with one another in a reliable and engaging way. It is part of the umbrella system called Office 365, which also houses SharePoint online, Exchange email, and Microsoft Office Online products.

    Some of the important features of the Lync Online service include:

      - IM service with multiple connection capabilities. -This allows the connection to be clearer, faster, and more readily available when the customer wants to communicate.

      - Video conference calling for one-on-one communications or larger, group meetings.- Audio conferencing is also available for customers who need this simpler function. Web conferencing is another possibility for group members who enjoy annotation, note taking, and other convenient in-meeting tools.

      - Peer to peer file transfers.- This makes for a more efficient sharing system as no email uploading or downloading is required.

    Skype for Business offers features including presence, IM, voice and video calls, online meetings, conferencing, and telephony solutions that support enterprise-level collaboration requirements. Skype for Business Record meetings, share your screen, and annotate PowerPoint for real-time collaboration with up to 250 people and use whiteboard, polls, Q&A, and built-in IM during your business meetings to make them more productive. Skype for Business provides new client experience, Skype for Business Server provides several new features to improve manageability of on-premises servers and hybrid solutions. Skype for Business also supports the Lync client experience so that you can choose a phased upgrade approach to the new client experience for users. Skype for Business is also an integral part of Microsoft Office 365, providing PSTN Conferencing, Cloud PBX, PSTN Calling, and Skype Meeting Broadcast capabilities to Office 365 users.
