We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We allow non-technical people to use Matillion to load data into our data warehouse for reporting. Thus, it is easy enough to use that we don't always have to get a technical person involved in setting up a data movement (ETL).""The loading of data is the most valuable feature of Matillion ETL.""It has helped us to get onto the cloud quickly.""The most valuable feature of Matillion ETL is the ETL. The solution is open-source which provides advantages, such as good performance and high efficiency. Additionally, it supports three data types which eliminates predefining the data, and we can write script models in Python.""Matillion ETL is one hundred percent stable.""Matillion ETL has great Git integration that is perfect and convenient to use.""The new version with the Productivity Cloud is very simple. It's easy to use, navigate, and understand.""The technical support treats us well. They already have a support portal, and they are responsive, which helps."

Cons
"I am looking forward to seeing the expansion of the source range for their data loader product.""There are certain functions that are available in other ETL tools which are still not present in Matillion ETL. It would be good to have more features.""Matillion’s on-premises capabilities don’t allow you to build something customized.""The tool's lineage is very weak.""Performance can be improved for efficiency, and it can be made faster.""It can have multi-environment support. We should be able to deploy it in different environments. Its integration with SAP connection is not so nice, which should be improved. It can also support an on-prem database.""Ideally, I would like it to integrate with Secrets Manager as well as the AWS.""The current version is a bit more limited because it's on a virtual machine, and everything executes on that one virtual machine."

More Matillion ETL Cons →

"It does not have all of the industry-standard solutions available in PO and it is not plug and play, so we have to do a lot of development.""Data modeling is an area of concern in the product where improvements are required.""SAP Process Orchestration breaks down sometimes.""The older version of the solution will no longer be supported.""It would be beneficial to enhance the ease of implementing new projects and improve overall stability in our implementations.""The solution could improve by making it more user-friendly by limiting the code required. We have to add some code in some cases where we need complex logic or some other functions. If this was able to be done in a more simplified manner then it would save a lot of effort and time.""It requires some maintenance.""It is scalable, but there can be performance issues with high data volume or traffic, especially during month ends."

    Overview

Matillion ETL is a powerful tool for extracting, transforming, and loading large amounts of data from various sources into cloud data warehouses like Snowflake. Its ability to load data dynamically and efficiently using metadata is a standout feature, as is its open-source ETL with good performance and high efficiency.

The solution has a graphical interface for jobs, is easily adjustable and extensible, and allows for scheduling and error reporting. Matillion ETL has helped organizations move to a cloud-based solution, bridge the gap between on-premises and on-cloud, and perform complex migration projects.

SAP NetWeaver Process Integration facilitates the integration of business processes that span different departments, organizations, or companies. SAP PI is based on general standards so as to enable 3rd-party systems to be integrated. At the center of SAP PI is an XML-based communication that uses HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol). Irrespective of the scenario used, the application-specific contents are transferred in messages in user-defined XML eXtensible Markup Language) from the sender to the receiver either via the Integration Server, or directly between the systems involved. SAP PI can be installed in different ways: Dual usage type installation: Based on both AS ABAP and AS Java. and Advanced Adapter Engine Extended (AEX): Based on AS Java only.
