Maurizio TestaSecurity Engineer/Architect at Telecom Italia
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:
"McAfee synchronizes security across the security fabric."
"The most valuable features are the integration with different modules like the DLP."
"It has a very good interface."
"The most valuable feature is the security, which is very effective compared to other products."
"The features that I have found most valuable are its ability to detect and delete known malware and the DLP in particular."
"The good part of this solution is that it protects the systems from malware etc. It also has a good user interface."
"It can be set up easily and then connected with the server to get the latest updates."
"The technical support is good. They are fast to respond and they have weekend support."
"The most valuable features are web security, email filtering, and content filtering."
"The vulnerability scanning reduces false positives by quite a bit."
"The most valuable feature is the virtual patching."
"In terms of valuable features, I would say its intrusion prevention. Each and every IP connecting to the server gets scanned so we know everyone who is accessing our server and we can block whichever IP's do not belong to us at the firewall."
"The initial setup was straightforward and we didn't have any problem with it."
"This product offers good protection against many types of malware."
"Automated virtual patching is a good feature."
"It integrates well with the cloud; for example, AWS, and Google Cloud Provider."
"They could try to introduce advanced threat detection."
"The advanced threat protection is not as good as our competitors."
"It's an expensive solution."
"The dashboard should be improved, as a more user-friendly version is required."
"They could improve the monitoring and classification of the data features."
"Sometimes, the updates don't happen successfully. The updates start, but they are not completed. Let's say there is a process that runs on the server-side every night, and it pushes the updates. Sometimes, these updates fail. I'm not sure whether it is a McAfee's problem or an internal problem with our systems. If this is really an issue with McAfee MOVE AntiVirus, McAfee can work on it and improve it in the next release. If it is an internal issue, I need to figure out why it is happening within the organization. We may need to take some technical support from McAfee to see what the problem is and then we need to get it fixed. At this point in time, all I know is that it happens sometimes."
"This solution is okay for users who are just office personnel. Developers or users who heavily use their laptops complain that it really slows down their laptops. Using this solution can be a big challenge from the performance perspective if you need a productive system that locally runs multiple VMs."
"I would like to see more emphasis on cybersecurity in the next release."
"The support for email protection can be improved."
"The client can show as offline sometimes, and that becomes a bit difficult for troubleshooting. We end up basically redeploying the client. This is something that could be improved in the future."
"When implementing this solution, sometimes we have challenges with SQL migration."
"As for what could be improved, I think it should come with an XDR facility without any extra cost. They're always releasing new features, but we need to pay extra for them."
"The situation with the currency in Turkey makes this solution a little bit on the expensive side, and if it were lowered then it would be more competitive."
"They need to build in a central console because central integration is not very good right now."
"Requires simplification, a fair amount of trouble shooting required."
"The problem with this solution is that if you go on large sites you have to have an external database, which would increase the cost."
"The licensing fees are billed on an annual basis."
"The solution is not expensive."
"It could be cheaper, but anybody would like a good product at a lesser price."
"The solution requires a license."
"Pricing is reasonable."
"There is no monthly fee. You just purchase the tool."
"The cost is approximately six thousand Qatari Riyal ($1650 USD) per user."
"Some of our customers complain about the cost of this solution."
"It's more expensive than other solutions, such as Sophos and Kaspersky, as an endpoint solution."
"The solution is considerably cheaper than other similar solutions."
"There is a license for this solution and there are extra features you can purchase."
