Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The features that I have found most valuable are its ability to detect and delete known malware and the DLP in particular.""The solution works in the background.""This product keeps our organization's devices secure.""There have never been any issues in terms of security, so it's assumed that McAfee is doing its job well.""It's my understanding that the initial setup isn't too difficult.""The most valuable feature of McAfee MOVE AntiVirus is the central management console. I can control everything from one place.""The protection on offer is very fast.""The product offers good compatibility with other solutions and has good integration potential."

"RedSeal integrates the network and gives us a visual or graphical overview of our network. If an organization is geographically dispersed, for instance, with one office in Canada and one office in the Philippines, the whole network, including all devices, is integrated into RedSeal, and you can see from where the traffic is going in and out.""This is the only solution in the world that gives you a digital resilience score.""The most valuable features are network mapping and configuration."

Cons
"The solution could improve by making the dashboards better.""The advanced threat protection is not as good as our competitors.""McAfee MOVE AntiVirus blocks ports and applications that we need to use.""This solution is okay for users who are just office personnel. Developers or users who heavily use their laptops complain that it really slows down their laptops. Using this solution can be a big challenge from the performance perspective if you need a productive system that locally runs multiple VMs.""One problem is that when you switch on the system, Windows 10 takes almost two to three minutes to get initiated and then McAfee adds on to it because it starts scanning automatically.""McAfee MOVE AntiVirus could improve by consolidating the dashboard of all the endpoints and proving real-time alerts.""The solution could be more secure.""The solution could be a bit less expensive."

More McAfee MOVE AntiVirus Cons →

"One of the areas of concern is the GUI. It is important to our customers that the GUI looks beautiful. It's a Java Client, so you have a Java dependency.""The dashboard should be improved to make correlating data easier to do.""Sometimes, it required us to refresh the configuration. When we integrated any of the configurations into the device, sometimes, it could not detect the exact picture of that device. So, we had to reset the device to see that if it was giving true-positive results or false-positive results. In some cases, we were not able to get true-positive results. There was some kind of bug in that version. Its interface is not user-friendly and needs to be improved. It takes time to understand the interface and various options. Skybox has quite a user-friendly interface. They could provide a feature for compliance audit policy if it is already not there. A compliance audit policy ensures that all configurations are based on the best practices standards, such as CIS benchmarks standard or other similar standards. It provides visibility about whether your device configuration is based on best practices or not. Usually, such a feature is provided by other solutions such as Meteor or Tenable Nessus."

    Overview

McAfee MOVE AntiVirus is a virtual environment antivirus solution. Traditional antivirus doesn’t play well with virtualized infrastructure. McAfee MOVE AntiVirus brings optimized, advanced malware protection to virtualized desktops and servers. It offers security and performance for your company without requiring that every virtual machine be installed with an antivirus application. After identifying threats, McAfee MOVE AntiVirus protects your environment using the settings you define.

The software comes with two deployment options: Multi-Platform and Agentless. Both methods are handled and reported on by McAfee ePO and offer consistent protection.

    McAfee MOVE AntiVirus Features

McAfee MOVE AntiVirus has many valuable key features. Some of the most useful ones include:

    • Seamless management: A single solution for desktops and virtual servers works across all major hypervisors. An agentless, tuned option works on VMware vCloud Networking and Security and VMware NSX.
    • Optimized scanning: To eliminate scanning bottlenecks and delays, the solution offloads configuration, scanning, and .DAT update operations from individual guest images to an offload scan server.
    • Visibility: Ability to see into workloads and their underlying platforms through Cloud Workload Discovery for private cloud deployments.
    • Zero-day threat protection Quickly detect and contain zero-day threats and integrate perimeter and virtual machine protection with use of local reputation intelligence.
    • Flexible deployment: Run the same solution in multi platform environments, including agentless environments (VMware, Windows, and Linux VMs) and all major hypervisors and Windows VMs.
    • Single console management The ePolicy Orchestrator implements security solutions across virtual, physical, and cloud environments.
    • Optimization of resources: Scale your scanning power either up or down by using elastic provisioning of offline scanners with event notifications.
    • Manage Your Policies: Automatically tag vulnerable virtual machines and unify policies.

    McAfee MOVE AntiVirus Benefits

There are many benefits to implementing McAfee MOVE AntiVirus. Some of the biggest advantages the solution offers include:

    • Malware scanning is offloaded: Instant security with minimal impact on memory and processing.
    • Boosts web and intrusion protection
    • Blocks unknown and zero-day threats: File analysis in real time via McAfee Global Threat Intelligence.
    • Reduces setup and updates: Virtual appliance that is dedicated and hardened.
    • Protects against antiviral storms: Scheduled and on-access scans are available options.
    • Deployment flexibility: Agentless on VMware or multiplatform (vendor neutral).
    • Leverages McAfee ePO software: Control, at-a-glance visibility, and reporting across your endpoints.

    Reviews from Real Users

McAfee MOVE AntiVirus stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Some of these include its user-friendly UX, its full automation, and its stability. PeerSpot users take note of the advantages of these features in their reviews:

Jerry O., Group General Manager at Mandilas Toyota, writes, “It is a stable, reliable solution with good performance. The solution is reasonably priced. It’s great at protecting users and won’t let any external devices come through. They can’t copy anything from the server.”

Supriya R., a Senior Sales Manager at UST Global, notes, “The most valuable features of McAfee MOVE AntiVirus are the auto-scans on the systems, and if it detects any virus, it will send out notifications or alerts."
