We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks.""The product detects and blocks threats and is more proactive than firewalls.""The product's initial setup phase is very easy.""Fortinet FortiEDR's firewalling, rule creation, monitoring, and inspection profiles are great.""Having all monitoring, response, tracking, and mitigation tools in one dashboard provides our analysts and SOC team with a comprehensive view at a glance.""Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out.""The solution was relatively easy to deploy.""The price is low and quite competitive with others."

"I would say Tanium is the best tool for vulnerability management.""The most valuable features of this solution are the consolidation of all historical data on device endpoints, security drivers, firmware, and Software version gaps.""I'm not so familiar with the tool but I like the interaction of the console to the picture. Patching is the primary model I have been focusing on for the last couple of weeks. So I have created a proof of concept environment and have been checking the available features.""Tanium's most valuable feature is its instant discovery aspect.""For incident response tasks, all these tasks can get done in minutes with minimal disruption to the end-user.""Tanium's most valuable features are patch management, inventory, and distribution software.""Tanium’s linear-chain architecture is valuable.""Threat hunting is a very good feature on Tanium. We have just started using it and have not used it extensively."

"It is scalable and stable and the initial setup is the easiest part of using the product.""The independent modules are very good.""If the network has seen something, we can use that to put a block to all the endpoints.""The installation phase of the solution was very easy.""FireEye Endpoint Security is easy to use and lightweight compared to others.""The features we have found most valuable have been containment as well as the ability to triage agent activities.""I found the initial setup to be easy.""The extendability is great."

Cons
"The SIEM could be improved.""FortiEDR could add a separate scanning dashboard. In incident management, we prefer to remove the endpoint system from the environment and scan the system. We typically use Symantec for that, but if we want to use FortiEDR for that, then we need a scanning tab to clarify things.""The solution should address emerging threats like SQL injection.""It takes about two business days for initial support, which is too slow in urgent situations.""I think cloud security and SASE are areas of concern in the product where improvements are required. The tool's cloud version has to be improved in terms of the security it offers.""I haven't seen the use of AI in the solution.""The support needs improvement.""Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"I would like to have more integrations and custom plugins to input. Integration is always a big deal in a lot of different environments.""The most painful thing is the interface. It's a bit unclear sometimes.""The solution lacks mobility.""The performance could improve in future releases. We have had performance issues in specialized web environments, but overall I think the problems are less than 2% of the computer systems being used.""The solution can give a lot of false positives.""We had some issues with the solution's OS upgrade.""Tanium's limitations should be improved because although it is a great tool, it is limited to only a few classes during a session.""The main issues are the network connection because different customers have issues with their networks. It's difficult implementing this type of solution because the network is the main feature in the architecture for these types of solutions. Tanium could improve by creating some network optimization."

More Tanium Cons →

"The reports need more development. They need more details on the reports and more details taking the executive view into consideration.""I would like to see more automation.""Search feature could be made more user-friendly.""A policy-editing console should be added.""We would like to solution to offer better security.""If you have another endpoint product running on the same machine, you have to fine tune functions from FireEye to avoid performance and user experience issues.""You do not have access to all the features when you use the Trellix web interface. For example, you cannot do device or drive encryption from the web interface. Also, when we're working with customers, it's sometimes challenging to get sales support. Delays mean we might lose an opportunity. Lastly, Trellix lacks some documentation about custom features.""I would like to see more local integration for the applications that we use."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
