We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"With some of the other tools, you have to buy 20 different plugins to get to the same capability that comes with the basic Agility capability.""For visualization capabilities, the automation capabilities make it possible to support the different personas. The features and capabilities are excellent and come with excellent support.""It allows my clients to have one central tool to manage their agile projects.""Agility is highly flexible. It can do much more than what our client is doing with it. They use it in a defined way. Some at that company have a much broader knowledge of agile and SAFe, but they're given applications and a mandated way to work. We had to work within their parameters and provide an accurate transition so the data would be mapped and pushed through.""It can generate reports showing a burndown chart, burnup chart, and the planned vs actual velocity."

"I love linking/associating the requirements to a test case. That's where I get to know my requirement coverage, which helps a lot at a practical level. So, we use the traceability and visibility features a lot. This helps us to understand if there are any requirements not linked to any test case, thus not getting tested at all. That missing link is always very visible, which helps us to create our requirement traceability matrix and maintain it in a dynamic way. Even with changing requirements, we can keep on changing or updating the tool.""The ability to integrate this solution with other applications is helpful. If there is automation, it comes with improved quality and speed.""Cross project customization through template really helps to maintain standards with respect to fields, workflows throughout the available projects.""The most valuable feature is the ST Add-In. It's a Microsoft add-in that makes it much easier to upload test cases into Quality Center.""As a system administrator, HPE ALM can be flexibly configured so that it can accommodate a variety of defined project lifecycles and test methodologies.""ALM is a well-known product and is one of the pioneers in providing test management facilities with a 360 degree view of requirements.""What they do best is test management. That's their strong point.""Defect management is very good."

Cons
"Improve how to create and track releases. Currently, I have to create child projects.""The machine learning features are a new capability but could be improved. This is being worked by Digital.ai currently. Multicolor simulation, specifically, could be improved.""In my work as a contractor, it's always frustrating when a client has multiple software applications that don't talk to each other and they all perform the same function. That presents a huge challenge between their IT groups.""There is room for improvement in getting the analytics portion of the solution more integrated with the rest of it.""The user interface can be improved by adding Save, Edit, Add, Cancel, and Return buttons to the popup windows that are displayed when you click on a child item."

More Digital.ai Agility Cons →

"The uploading of test scripts can get a little cumbersome and that is a very sensitive task. They could improve on that a lot. It's really important that this gets better as I'm loading close to a thousand test scripts per cycle.""There are always new features and more support for new and legacy technology architectures with each release. But the bad news is a growing list of long-standing issues with the product rarely gets addressed.""The support is not good and the documentation is not consistent.""We would like to have support for agile development.""If the solution could create a lighter, more flexible tool with more adaptability to new methodologies such as agile, it would be great.""HPE ALM’s out-of-the-box reporting can be perceived as rigid and limited, to an extent.""Micro Focus is an expensive tool.""Micro Focus ALM Quality Center could improve its marketing. For example, Tricentis is much better at letting the market know about new solutions and updates. The migration of the tool could improve, but it can be difficult."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "You get what you pay for. Don't let your development teams dictate what the portfolio management team should use as the main tool."
  • "Comparing the pricing to other products, I think this solution is in the middle."
  • More Digital.ai Agility Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "I'd rate the pricing as 3/10 as it's very expensive."
  • "If you have more than five users, a concurrent licensing model should be considered."
  • "For pricing, I recommend to buy a bundled package. Check the HPE site for more details."
  • "The full ALM license lets you use the requirements tab, along with test automation and the Performance Center. You can also just buy the Quality Center edition (Manual testing only), or the Performance Center version (Performance Testing only)."
  • "HPE has one of the most rigid, inflexible, and super expensive license models."
  • "Sure, HP UFT is not free. But consider what you get for that cost: A stable product that is easy to use; the kitchen sink of technology stack support; decades of code (which in many cases actually is free); a version that is a stepping stone to an easier Selenium design; and a support base that is more that just the kindness of strangers."
  • "Seat and concurrent licensing models exist; the latter is recommended if a large number of different users will be utilizing the product."
  • "I feel that the licenses are expensive. "
