We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is very important that the platform gives us a single place where we can measure progress toward goals, as we have weekly meetings with the CTO. We present these consolidated overviews and dashboards to him so that he has an overview of all the projects and can see the status of all the problems that we have and we are working on.""Overall, they have a very strong workflow management capability. That's a very strong feature because then you can model any process easily. Whether it is a demand management process, a pipeline management process, or your project delivery methodology, it is much easier because of their workflow management capability.""Has a powerful workflow engine that allows creation of workflow complexities and processes.""Recent Program Management lifecycle, Program Management aggregation views due to interactive UI (selection of risks, issues, and changes in Program Overview) and “flash look & feel" of this functional chunk, which is different in comparison to other parts of HPE PPM.""Scenario comparison is the feature most valuable to us and the reason why we decided to choose HPE PPM over other portfolio management products.""Micro Focus Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) has a very strong workflow engine.""Micro Focus PPM is flexible and easy to use. It's simple to customize and configure workflows.""The data provided by PPM is trusted and is available almost immediately; without trusted data there is very less scope of any tool to be successful."

"The most important feature of ServiceNow IT Business Management is flexibility.""The feature I find the most valuable is the one that lets you see how much time has been used in processing a ticket. This allows us to better monitor performance.""The solution was quite easy to use. The interface was quite user-friendly, and I've become quite familiar with it.""The most valuable features of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management are the multiple methodology possibilities for projects. It has hybrid, traditional, and Agile capabilities. Additionally, the solution integrates well with other platforms, such as Microsoft Azure.""The solution is scalable.""The PPM module is an excellent service.""The stability is excellent. ServiceNow is one of the leading platforms when it comes to stability.""The most valuable feature of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is incident management."

Cons
"We constantly put in requests for some of the things we need. One of those is being able to export just our standard request type to PDF.""Portfolio scenarios: This is a very powerful feature. However, it’s limited to analyses.""I was not involved in the initial setup. I know that the project involved a lot of consulting that took a long time.""Reporting; need to be able to provide fancy reporting out of PPM, way it is done in OBIEE etc.""We had a couple of issues with stability or performance degradation about a year ago, around the time of the initial rollout. Since then, we've only had two unexpected outages that were quickly resolved.""Micro Focus PPM should be less dependent on coding. It could also benefit from some updates to the software architecture. These have been on the roadmap for years now, but they haven't been released.""They can make its UI better. Currently, the UI is a bit clunky.""Sometimes features in PPM don't work as expected, or our users request a new feature. Typically, our partner vendor can deploy those changes. But there have been a few instances when we had to raise it with Micro Focus because it's beyond the ability of our partner vendor. When we raise the issue with Micro Focus, it sometimes takes time because it needs support from other customers using PPM, not just our bank. It goes through a voting system. Other customers need to vote for the feature. The features that get the most votes will possibly be added."

"The cost could be improved. The solution is quite pricey.""ServiceNow needs to invest more in integration. That's the only thing. It could always extend its portfolio a little bit.""The interface isn't user-friendly.""The price is too high.""The setup is a bit complex. It depends on the organizational needs, and sometimes, we make customizations based on those needs.""A major improvement we would like to see is definitely around agile management.""ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management must improve its interface, which is not very interactive or user-friendly compared to other tools like Zendesk. The real-time reporting feature doesn't help much in our decision-making process. It's quite complex to use and lacks the rich features needed for visualization. Overall, I find it to be very poor.""The configurations are fine, but the user interface could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Support and license management are two hurdles for us. Every time we purchase new licenses, it has taken us half a year to implement those."
  • "It is SaaS without a base fee."
  • "HPE PPM SaaS model is comprehensive, however, the base fee component has customer resistance to its recurring setup,"
  • "Now, we also received an increase in the support license prices, without any advanced notice. At this point, switching to unify all our licensing under HPE and customer support has been poor."
  • "We have an annual license, and it is fairly priced in comparison to that of other solutions."
  • "A large organization will find Micro Focus PPM affordable, but it may be a bit costly for a small or medium-sized company. The license is based on the number of users."

  • "They sell some things in bundles, and it could be handier that some of those things could be sold in another way, like purity models and other packages. Another thing that I'm struggling with is the pricing of ServiceNow's FYE experience, which includes the tools that are positioned for supporting HR."
  • "It is a little expensive. We are in Brazil, and for us, it is a little expensive."
  • "The solution could improve by being less expensive and the pricing model is confusing. Many people are getting charged different amounts. There are additional fees that they are adding on."
  • "We have a team of about 6,500 employees across the globe. So, the amount of money I'm going to save by putting the money on the table for the implementation and licenses is very high."
  • "The cost of the solution should not be more than $50,000 annually."
  • "I would rate the cost as five out of ten."
  • "The licensing is based on metrics and is tailored to customer's needs."
  • "I rate the price of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management a seven out of ten."
