We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The feature I find most valuable is the ability to publish Power Bi reports, using an embedded link, directly onto a website.""If you are not very technical this tool could be very useful.""I like the downloadable visualizations a lot. I think that they give the user a very nice starting point in creating awesome dashboards, with the right way to tell their data story.""This solution has improved our ability in making decisions and explaining data.""It has provided customer purchase patterns and great visualization.""PowerBi is used to import our production data and generate dashboards, then integrates other Excel sheets to provide managers dashboards. This helps them get insights to make better OEE improvement decisions, mainly where to focus resources. We became able to see indicators from any time frame (day, week, month, or year), then could make better decisions.""The drag and drop facility to easily change the data correctly is the most valuable feature. I am happy to see visualizations. It's easier to talk about and make people understand what is going on.""We like the drag and drop interactability visualization. We really like that. It's user-friendly."

"The common metadata environment means that the entire organisation has the same definition of core measures rather than these being derived in spreadsheets or specific reports.""The solution's user security is extremely effective. You can profile very well. All the users and all the functionality is protected and that includes information and data segregation.""It provides flexibility for creating reports. It is very good for creating highly-complex reports. I like this solution because when I buy BusinessObjects, it comes with many components, such as reporting, dashboard, and data visualization tools. Its performance is good. It is running on top of SAP BW and SAP HANA.""It is stable and robust. It has pretty direct integration with SAP ERP. It is easy to use.""The setup is pretty easy. It's not hard at all.""If I were to compare it with Power BI and I wanted to build proper well-formatted reports, BusinessObjects Business Intelligence does that much better. Power BI is just getting into that space. They've concentrated more on visualization, which is what the SAP Lumira does. With Web Intelligence, you are able to build reports that users can interact with. They can also do a lot of querying themselves. It is robust in terms of security and integration. It is also quite scalable.""SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform is definitely scalable.""To share a metadata service layer, you don't need to add a user or write a SQL query. Instead, you can present a raw database to your end user."

Cons
"I would like to see Machine Learning for Power Bi Pro users or an intermediate license to enable Machine Learning if you don't have access to a Premium account.""Adding paginated reports to this tool could be of great help for users who want to move away from SSRS.""Some kind of expression wizard, where the user can build a complex expression without any knowledge of DAX, can be a good addition to the product.""We would like to have better SQL support for queries.""This solution needs integration with SAS and more deep analysis functionality.""Real-time updating needs improvement.""I would like to be able to use SQL properly within the reports and allow multiple people to work on the same report at the same time. If one person is working on it, then it causes issues for anyone else wanting to make reports.""If I have to update data automatically, where I have to pin the gateway, it doesn't update. There is a scheduled refresh functionality so that it refreshes automatically, but I find it very hard to make it work."

"This solution is complex to configure and administer.""The self-service area, or dashboard, needs some improvement. While the reporting itself is great, the dashboard and Analytics Cloud are not user friendly.""Its data visualization tool is not as good as Power BI and Tableau. Currently, for data visualization, you need to spend more money to buy another solution such as Power BI or Tableau. It is also very hard to integrate it with other third-party solutions. Its integration with other solutions should be improved.""Its price should be better. It is expensive and not cost-effective. It should also be improved in terms of end-user experience. It requires further improvements for usability and ease of use. It should have more dashboarding metrics and much faster integration with ERP so that when you double click, you can instantly see the scenario-based result.""The UI could be updated a bit.""I don't like the fact that I have to use two tools. Web Intelligence is good for reporting and all kinds of stuff, but I would rather have one product. All the reporting features of Web Intelligence should be developed within Lumira. A lot of predictive abilities have been brought into the cloud version of SAP Analytics. It would be nice to see a lot of newer technologies and AI. Predictive capabilities are becoming a little more standard. Instead of having to get another model, we are just looking for one solution to deal with analytics including predictive.""There should be more integration with other platforms.""The solution could be less expensive. It's a bit pricey now."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"We have a premium Power BI license in-house that's quite an expensive license. It's $10 a month for four users and then I think 35,000 at the premium rate.""It is somewhere in the middle in terms of price. Licensing is quite clear.""Its cost seems to be unreasonable if you have many users, but for a lesser number of users, it is reasonable. It is $10 per month. Clients easily accept this option, so they must think it is reasonable. It is quite cheap as compared to other tools, such as Tableau. One of the best things about this solution is that it has a trial version.""Once the trial period for the BI service is over, the cost is approximately $10 USD per user, per month, so it's quite reasonable.""The pricing is very reasonable compared to any other tool.""Microsoft BI is not very cheap. A premium license costs roughly 5,000 euros a month.""This product offers good value for the money.""Microsoft BI is free for the personal edition, but there is also a paid-for professional version."

"Its price is fair.""It is not cost-effective. It is expensive.""I have always found SAP BI to be expensive. It is expensive even when you compare SAP BI Cloud with Microsoft Power BI. Power BI is probably around $9.99 per month, and the cheapest SAP BI is around $20, which is double. In terms of price, Power BI is definitely a lot better. If you have budget issues, you may want to go for Power BI."
