Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The product is easy to use and simple to navigate.""It is a powerful tool that helps our data analysis processes.""Power BI is more powerful than other tools because it is new for us. Each new version has more capabilities, and we're expecting AI and ML features in the next version.""We've used Microsoft BI for the general use cases around reporting and dashboarding.""The good part of it is that you can do whatever you want with it when it comes to building BI. In terms of languages, it supports Python, and it also natively supports R.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Power BI is the drill-through feature that takes you to a details page the users want to see.""It's easy to create reports and it's easy to download the data from the corresponding report.""The solution integrates with other Microsoft solutions very well."

Cons
"There are certain features that are only available in the cloud version. It would be beneficial if they could be brought down to the on-premise version without the necessity of using the enterprise SQL database, as that can be very costly. We need more cost-effective features that are available in the cloud to be accessible on-premise.""One of the more difficult things to do is to export some of the data from Power BI to Excel.""I have been doing trial and error to figuring out how to do the data analyzing and modeling. There could be some improvement to simplify it.""Powerpoints are not available in the report server.""Microsoft BI lacks some of the scheme features. It would be beneficial if there were a way to show how we move values in a different way.""The reporting needs to be improved.""If I compare it to Tableau, I'd say the visualizations can be better. We should have multiple options. By that I mean, while there are multiple options for the visualization, the look and feel of the dashboard when you compare to Tableau is on the lower side. Tableau has a much better visualization.""Drill-down in dashboards needs to improved. The capability only works in Power BI Desktop today. We need to have an alternative approach today."

"It is not a very scalable product."
