We performed a comparison between Microsoft Intune and SOTI MobiControl based on our users’ reviews in five categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Comparison Results: SOTI MobiControl is the winner in this comparison. It is easy to deploy, high performing, fairly priced, and has excellent customer support.
"Internet-based access with security is what I have found to be most valuable. It is also a stable and scalable solution."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune is having all our devices compliant with our policies."
"Intune enables us to manage our devices from anywhere."
"It works pretty well for us."
"The conditional access policies that we set up are very useful."
"This product offers an alternative solution to other UEM (Unified Endpoint Management) solutions."
"Intune's most valuable features are the device, compliance, and configuration policies."
"The central administration con dashboard is very easy to use and provides very good oversight on all that needs to be monitored."
"The other feature, that I have got to say is just leaps and bounds ahead of SOTI's competition, is the remote control feature. It's a true admin remote-control, so we don't have to have somebody on the other side of the device allowing us access to the device... We're able to pull up a tablet or phone and take pictures of it and we can actually videotape what's going on, on the device itself, and that's been huge."
"All features are useful. It is useful for preventing the use of unauthorized software on corporate-owned devices. It provides an option to lock the devices for unauthorized software. The devices can only be used under the supervision of the device manager."
"It helps in enrolling, managing, and relocating the devices quickly."
"The initial setup is straightforward."
"Also, although they're Apple products, we don't use the Find My iPhone feature because that would require us to use so many fake numbers or come up with a list of numbers. SOTI has been super-helpful in helping us track where an iPad is and knowing that we can remote-access it."
"I've really enjoyed the use of the file sync when I'm administrating version control in my program."
"It is very reliable, and their support is excellent."
"The most valuable features are remote control and geo-fencing."
"No option to do end-to-en macOS management. Slow implementation of policies."
"The documentation about the custom image setup could be better. Although Microsoft provides the steps to configure Intune or set up or deploy Intune, it doesn't have much information related to custom images. If you ask, "how can we deploy the custom image?" There is no information. The steps they mention ask you to connect to your on-premises environment or create your own image on the cloud itself once there is connectivity. But I needed to go to multiple websites to get all this information. I had to figure out how to upload the custom image if you want to use the on-premise custom image for Cloud PC. If you have the proper subscription, you must have the right access, like global admin or owner. Then you can add your custom image to that. There are no steps mentioned over there. Microsoft Intune doesn't have Chrome browser support. I would like to have that support because they will want it if we pitch the product to clients."
"An area for improvement is the absence of seamless integration, particularly with external dashboards."
"There are a lot of small use cases where we realized that some technical solution was missing in Microsoft in comparison to other products. For example, it lacks something similar to sensing or location-based rules and configurations."
"The feature that allows us to import the business application from the configuration manager to Intune is not very good at this time."
"An issue we have run into with Microsoft Endpoint Manager is that we cannot patch third-party products like Adobe and Chrome with it."
"For an existing customer who has an SCCM, it would need to be upgraded to an MECM first before I can introduce Microsoft Intune."
"Microsoft Intune's support for Mac devices is lacking and could be improved."
"You need to get used to the admin console. I think it could be improved. It's not the best I've seen. Certainly, the software has a lot of features so you necessarily have some complexity in the interface, but I've seen better. They could make it easier in certain aspects."
"The solution could use better reporting."
"The product’s features for managing Windows devices need improvement."
"The pricing policy of SOTI is not stable. You buy it today at one price, and the following year, it becomes something like 5% or 7% higher. From my point of view, SOTI is a little bit weak in terms of implementation on the new Windows 10 devices, and they have to work on this. It can't compete with Intune and other solutions when it comes to Windows implementation. It almost doesn't work with iOS. It works well with Android."
"They could organize the software a little bit better, where you access things on the console. It seems like I have to click in three different places in order to get it to go to one area. I should be able to access pretty much any point of the server, whatever I need to touch, from a panel, without having to go click on a menu, then click on the profiles, then click over on Server and go back up to the top and click on the type of device that I have, just to get my applications to show."
"SOTI MobiControl could improve by being more user-friendly."
"In future releases, I would like to see a better configuration of the dashboard."
"In the next release, they should make it easier to migrate."
