The ROI for us has been that when we had Hurricane Harvey last year, Xendesktop came in very handy for us. Even though people had electricity in Texas, many networks were down. Our offices could still get into our network and do work that was needed. It is an excellent virtual office that works anywhere, anytime and anyplace. It is worth our investment.XenDesktop has helped our users to work remotely with a better user experience.

Cons
Microsoft still has some really bad remote desktop appliance for Mac.In the next release, I would like to see better performance over slower networks, and integration with Linux, but this is something that we're going to get out of Microsoft in terms of a unified solution. We find the services are not as transparent as we would like for our integration with Citrix.

Overview
Remote Desktop Services is a server role in Windows Server that provides technologies that enable users to access session-based desktops, virtual machine-based desktops, or applications in the data center from both within a corporate network and from the Internet. Remote Desktop Services enables a rich-fidelity desktop or application experience, and helps to securely connect remote users from managed or unmanaged devices.

With Citrix XenDesktop, you can mobilize your business by deploying virtual desktops and Windows apps onto mobile devices. Powered by XenApp, XenDesktop is capable of delivering entire desktops or even just the applications to any type of device. Not only is the solution non-device specific, but it also optimizes the virtual desktop/apps for each type of device and network, and supports touch technology.

XenDesktop enables IT to centralize security and control, and also to reduce IT costs through virtualization. The solution is simple to deploy and manage, and contributes towards increased employee productivity.
