"The product is seamless and robust.""This product is very reasonably priced.""The ability to manage firmware revisions.""The tool's most valuable feature is port security, which allows blocking/disabling ports. The ports also have PoE capability.""It offers very good control.""UniFi Switches' best feature is the ability to switch voltage from 24 to 48, and it's almost the only device on the market with this feature.""Good price point and very simple to use.""The GUI interface is very easy to use and the Linux-based command-line interface is also good."

Cons
"MikroTik needs to add some features like IPS, mail security, or antivirus, et cetera.""Improvements are needed with respect to some of the security, especially for VPN links between vendors other than Cisco.""The user interface could improve and they should allow a license for IBS.""The port isolation and VLAN need to be improved.""If MikroTik had a marketing team and support team in India then it would be much easier for us to get the product, as well as support.""There has to be more development in the OS. It's complex for this switch as compared to others like Cisco. For NetGear and Cisco, it's easy to adapt the VLAN concept but it should be simplified for MikroTik.""It happens that you may find your network is down, if you reboot the switch, they come up. However, sometimes, they reset themselves. That's a big issue.""Antispam and antivirus features should be included in the future."

"The support is pretty much email-based and that's horrible for an enterprise product. I can't call anybody right away.""The solution needs to improve its documentation because it is quite poor.""The documentation for command lines needs to be improved.""Some of the features needed to set up the solution are too complex. There's a lot of technical information that is required.""I had some initial problems with the configuration that necessitated contacting technical support.""The technical support for this solution could be improved.""Functionalities can change quite quickly without notice.""We've had issues with the power supply. I've had to change the power supply twice. I'm not sure what the issue is. We're still trying to work out why we're having problems with the switches and the cutting of the power supply. The solution should look into this to see if there is something wrong with the product."

    Reviews from Real Users

A PeerSpot user who is a Director of Technical Operations/CTO at a consultancy says "The ability to deploy quickly and then having one central location for all the settings are its most valuable aspects."

"The integration with the controller is one of the most valuable features of these switches. They are also very stable. For example, we have some equipment that we haven't touched for four years that is still reliable," says Doru I., Senior solutions architect at Aplix Technologies

Murali S., Management Consultant at a consultancy, explains that “For the world where you have to balance traffic and traffic loads and bandwidth, their GUI makes it really easy because the switches, though they are enterprise grade level two or level three switches, the GUI is designed so that it's easy to set up VLANs where you need to control your traffic so that your phones don't break up and get choppy because of other people loading the network down too heavily."
