Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"For Windows services, there are multiple options within Intune to modernize it to be more internet-facing and dynamic.""The conditional access policies that we set up are very useful.""Microsoft Endpoint Manager is not expensive overall, especially for small environments.""The solution is easy to use and it has good performance.""As the solution is a software as a service, the scalability is unlimited.""The policy and compliance monitoring of devices and the software deployment are most valuable.""I can see that the patch management process is much improved with the bundled patch management option available in Microsoft Intune compared to the KPI deployment required by the other deployment solutions.""It's really easy to access."

More Microsoft Intune Pros →

"The most valuable feature is that everything is in one place, which makes it easy to manage.""The most valuable features of MobileIron UEM are tunneling and enterprise integration.""The company provides great customer service.""The user interface is user-friendly.""It's effective in what it is able to achieve and it's easy to use."

More Ivanti Neurons for MDM Pros →

"All features are useful. It is useful for preventing the use of unauthorized software on corporate-owned devices. It provides an option to lock the devices for unauthorized software. The devices can only be used under the supervision of the device manager.""Also, although they're Apple products, we don't use the Find My iPhone feature because that would require us to use so many fake numbers or come up with a list of numbers. SOTI has been super-helpful in helping us track where an iPad is and knowing that we can remote-access it.""It has a user-friendly menu that helps manage special purpose devices for security.""The remote control technology and screen-sharing absolutely help us resolve issues faster. If there is a remote user who has difficulties or does not understand an error or a problem or a crash, the support team can remote control the phone and see right away what is on the screen and act on the problem. We can debug, we can help, we can reboot the phone.""The other one would be just how easy it is to deploy applications.""We use SOTI MobiControl for managing Android device management.""It is very reliable, and their support is excellent.""Among the valuable features are managing configurations of all devices and being able to remote into devices... We send out configurations for each site that has its devices. Each site has a different configuration, and SOTI manages each configuration for each site"

Cons
"Integration with Mac devices requires some improvement.""The pricing could be improved.""It's only good for a Microsoft environment.""While Intune works perfectly well, the only potential downside is that the deployment could be a bit complex for some users.""Intune has some limitations when it comes to application updates for third-party applications. You can schedule an update, but when it's a package setup, you need to supercede and replace it each time.""In the next release, I would like a feature to be able to properly lock down the device. For example, if an attacker or somebody steals the phone, you can be sure that the pin cannot be broken.""Microsoft Intune could improve by being more user-friendly and having it geared toward device management. The graphic interface is not very good.""I know that their AI pieces are at the infancy stage, but allowing users to do more tagging for information would be an interesting thing because Intune also directly integrates with Azure. Because a lot of the devices are hosted with that, you also get a lot of tagging of user data and other things like that."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"MobileIron UEM could improve the monitoring of devices.""The integration between the MobileIron and Advanced Neurons isn't completely in sync, and we're still working on that.""The interface is complicated and not very easy to use.""We would like the initial setup to be simpler.""UI needs an upgrade, feels very outdated."

More Ivanti Neurons for MDM Cons →

"SOTI MobiControl's user interface is very tough to handle and should be made more user-friendly.""There is room for improvement in the support.""I would like to see some SMS integration so people can send data directly from a mobile phone through SMS when there's no internet.""Maybe if there were tiers, it would be better as then companies could lower the pricing by going to the lower deployment model.""Where they need improvement is not as much on the technical side but, rather, on their communication. In general, that has been poor. Account management and communication could be greatly improved...""You need to get used to the admin console. I think it could be improved. It's not the best I've seen. Certainly, the software has a lot of features so you necessarily have some complexity in the interface, but I've seen better. They could make it easier in certain aspects.""If the interface was a little bit more intuitive, more easily allowed me to get to where I want to be, that would be a little bit nicer, as far as the file sync goes.""In future releases, I would like to see a better configuration of the dashboard."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Consider the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite rather than choosing specific sub-components, e.g. only Microsoft Intune."
  • "There is a cost benefit of using Microsoft Intune because of the packaging with other Microsoft products."
  • "Microsoft Intune is a cost effective choice. It is less expensive than other products on the market."
  • "The purchase of the product was handled by someone else."
  • "I have no comment on pricing of the solution."
  • "The product is offered as part of a Microsoft standard bundle. The pricing can be competitive to Airwatch, and Maas360."
  • "For Microsoft 365 E5 clients, cost is not an issue as this product is one of the benefits."
  • "The price of Intune is included with the license for Office 365, so we don't have to pay anything extra for it."
  • More Microsoft Intune Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "My impression is that MobileIron is very expensive."
  • "The price of MobileIron UEM is very good."
  • More Ivanti Neurons for MDM Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Pricing is okay, but when you buy your renewal of licenses - at the end of the period or the year - if you have a lot of devices, obviously, it's going to increase. In the end, it's kind of expensive."
  • "I thought pricing was kind of high, but I believe that Soti is probably the best out there for this type of software, so there's not much I can do about that. The licensing is annual, per device."
  • "They've been pretty flexible with us, because we've changed the way we do our licensing a few times. We did a yearly, and then we went back and we did a quarterly, and I think we're back to yearly right now. We've been able to work stuff out and pricing has gone down since the onset. We've got a better rate per device and it's reasonable. The licensing cost from SOTI usually doesn't scare anybody, away once it's explained."
  • "The solution that we were using costs less, but it didn't offer as much as Soti. It's comparable if you look at it over the five-year term."
  • "There are solutions that can be more aggressively priced, but they may not provide all that SOTI does. It's a matrix regarding what feature you use. You need to compare the features you use and what you are willing to pay for them... SOTI's pricing is okay. It's in the middle... They can provide more aggressive pricing once you start to have a lot of licenses."
  • "The pricing is reasonable and the licensing model is very reasonable when compared to some of the competitors in the market. I can speak directly regarding Intune, which is very expensive compared to SOTI."
  • "It makes sense to have scanners on SOTI MobiControl, but it makes less sense to have printers because there are fewer features for them, while the price is the same for both."
  • "SOTI's pricing seems to be competitive."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."
