Find out in this report how the two Log Management solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The initial setup of Nagios Log Server was easy and straightforward."
"It provides an easy way to identify errors and spot issues, making troubleshooting more efficient."
"One of the most valuable features is the dashboard because the UI was effective and easy to use. The alert systems are good as well. We had no failovers and had high availability. We can search the queries fast as well in Nagios Log Server."
"The product is scalable."
"A great feature of the solution involves its internal portal."
"The cloud is very fast."
"We only buy the services we need. We don't have to pay for other things we don't."
"For my current requirements, the tool theme seems to be meeting my requirements, from a cost and requirements perspective."
"Dashboards and alerting are the most valuable features. The dashboards let us see how the system looks in terms of anomalies, and the alerts trigger us to go and look at what possible problems are happening."
"The Splunk search is powerful compared to similar solutions. We get millions of data points within seconds."
"We haven't had any limitations or problems connecting to our network devices."
"The most valuable feature of Splunk Cloud Platform is the alerting feature."
"Everything is maintained by the Splunk support team. Users do not have to maintain any physical servers. They do not have to maintain indexes and searches. It reduces a lot of work on the user side."
"As we are talking about a product which is open to the public, the pricing makes it challenging for us to profit off of its marketing."
"It would be beneficial for Nagios to incorporate a tool that goes beyond log management and includes features to monitor overall system health and assess the effectiveness of antivirus solutions."
"The configurations during initial setup could be improved. If they could be agentless, as in the case of the Ansible product, it would be better. I would like to be able to analyze the network bandwidth."
"The support could be better."
"The customization and dashboards have shortcomings and need to be improved to make the tool look more presentable."
"The on-premises version of Splunk includes all the integrations, while the Cloud platform lacks certain integrations and is limited in terms of the number of supported apps."
"In the case of knowledge objects, even a Splunk admin does not have access to delete them. If we want to remove a knowledge object, we need to contact Splunk support and raise a case. After that, they delete it. They should give us access to delete knowledge objects."
"The Splunk interface is on-premises, so we have limited access to Splunk Cloud. Splunk support is not so good on Splunk Cloud. The Splunk side of the Splunk Cloud should also be more customizable. Integrating Splunk UBA, Splunk Phantom, and Splunk Cloud is also a bit difficult."
"Splunk Cloud Platform needs to be made more user-friendly because it's not user-friendly."
"There can be more modules and more integration with other areas in the cloud and on-prem. I am not sure whether it includes network devices and things like that."
"Splunk should increase the frequency of new feature releases, particularly those related to real-time operational flow monitoring and analytics reporting."
"They need to provide more training options."
"Its stability and performance can be better. Very rarely does a day go by when we do not see an error in the console, such as a health check error. Because it is cloud-hosted, we do not have access to the backend to figure it out ourselves. We are reliant on their support to figure it out, and a couple of days later, the error comes back or it is a different error. It is a never-ending cycle of support tickets. Their support is also not great."
