We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
The features I've found the most useful are the plug-ins, the fact that you can connect almost everything to it. That's very useful. An excellent solution that is easy and intuitive to implement. The most valuable feature is its support for different types of devices, where it can use all of the equipment that you need. The most valuable feature is the dashboard, where I can have a single screen that provides a summary for hundreds of servers. This is a very good solution and it is simple to use, for any company. The most valuable feature is the monitoring of processes.

It monitors and continuously tests everything that is of importance to you and your users. It could be everything from monitoring disk space to CPU usage to memory. It could include determining if the response time in your e-commerce platform is quick enough, or whether you have too many bounces from some of the pages on your website. You want to monitor anything that could cost you money or time or resources. You can do that with this system. It's very flexible.

Cons
There's room for improvement in the visibility, and in the ability to extract information. Stuff like this should be more simple. They need more documentation for the plugins.I would like to see more customization in the network map because it is a bit tricky to use it.I would like a much easier GUI so that I can delete events and logs, which will free up a lot of space.I would like to see support for notification via SMS.The interface could be more user-friendly.

IT environments today are in constant flux. This is driven by the newer cloud technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker, etc. The whole Nagios-based monitoring system that OP5 is created on top of, is based on a host-service model. There is a need for a strategy on what to do with more dynamic environments. There is some cool stuff going on in that direction.

Pricing and Cost Advice
The pricing is high with separate licensing for the product and support. The licensing fees for this solution are approximately $3,000 USD per year. This solution is very expensive, at approximately $5,000 USD when I purchased it, which is why I haven't upgraded my version in several years. We are using the free version of this solution.
