Pros
The ability to restore in a catastrophic event is priceless, since every company must use a backup solution of some sort.We are able to take backups on a regular interval and restore data/VMs as we choose making the process work as advertised. The ability to create a replica of all virtual machines is a great feature. We have been able to set up a failover site that has replicas of our critical VMs.You can have it setup and running within a few minutes.

It is a good backup tool.We are satisfied with the stability of the product. In the global business world, Veritas has a very good name. I think they have a good solid product, and they are always trying to improve it, and update it. ;They know what the client actually needs, and they are up to the challenge of satisfying those needs. The backup solution comes in different versions to support different platforms. It is one of the most stable backup solutions.Backup Exec 2012 R2 is a very good product for the Windows file system and SQL backups. It is very user-friendly, but the next version Backup Exec 2014 that is released and the other next versions of Backup Exec product is not so friendly. One of the valuable features is the instant recovery for VMs. It reduces the RTO (Recovery Time Objective) drastically. The interface easy to use and it is compatible with most backup devices.

Cons
The upgrade process is a bit dated and could use some changes.UI could use some upgrades. The UI is basic, but functional. It would be great if the product could be expanded to support other virtual technologies.

I would like to see this solution improve on faster restoration. Currently, it takes a long time to restore my data.It would be nice to improve the backup acceleration and the fast restoration required.Enhanced support for cloud backup needs to be added.Initial setup is a bit complex and needs some expertise for troubleshooting when something goes wrong. It is not a recommended software when it comes to large environments where there has to be a minimal Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and/or Recover Point Objective (RPO).Firstly, the GUI for 2014 is mostly confusing, i.e., if you need to add any additional technical features, then it doesn't require a change to the GUI.There still a lot of room for improvement in synthetic technologies, especially when targeted to deduplication media.More stable environment in a WAN infrastructure.

Pricing and Cost Advice
Information Not Available
I would like to see a better licensing model. They changed it and it's just horrendous. It is cheap compared to the other backup technologies. It all depends on the requirements.Depending on the scenario, it can cost less than half of the price of other methods.Pricing is similar, but they don´t offer the same options/technology.If your company can afford it, go for it.
