We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"NetSuite is a great solution, fast to bring up and makes everyone's life easier.""NetSuite OneWorld is a single instance that allows you to do different business functions, such as reporting, order-to-cash, design-build, and procure-to-pay. This feature is what's most valuable in the solution.""The ability to customize it to create custom fields that are reportable, and then to be able to write script behind it to automate other processes that might otherwise be manual is great.""The executive dashboards have satisfied the founders and leadership with up to the minute information. This allows them to make high level decisions.""We've set up Jira integration and used robotic process automation (RPA) to streamline various processes, like procurement and invoicing. Some processes still require manual approval, like supplier invoices, but we're simplifying those too. We're also exploring integrating with other tools like Power BI for better data analytics and reporting. Currently, our automation focuses on general tasks, not document understanding or anything complex like that.""Inventory management in NetSuite OneWorld is one of the best in the industry, so this feature is what I like most about the solution.""The solution is scalable.""Lowers costs, produces higher efficiencies, while maintaining a leaner staff and produces advanced financials."

"The Financial Accounting module, in general, is quite good. It is quite simple but powerful. Similarly, the Manufacturing functionality, including a multiple level bill of materials, is also quite useful."

Cons
"Project collaboration through Dashboard Business Management and Relations Management is easy to perform, but it does need to be worked on as it is difficult for customers, suppliers, and internal users to use.""Some entities are not available for multiple subsidiaries, which requires duplication.""If you were to use standard costs, it doesn't handle standard costs well.""Currently, NetSuite OneWorld needs to be more mature, especially compared to SAP.""The Project Management User Interface is lacking.""In NetSuite OneWorld, what needs improvement is the production planning functionality.""I don’t like the SaaS models. Of course, they make the tool powerful enough to run a billion-dollar business. The tool is cheaper than SAP or Core.""Certain analytics features are missing that I've come to expect from other systems. Additionally, there are occasional issues with data accuracy that need to be addressed. Overall, deeper analytics capabilities would greatly improve the tool's usefulness for me."

"SYSPRO at the moment is lacking on the project side. There's a module called Projects and Contracts, and it's a poorly designed module. One of my clients is a project-based organization, and they're finding it extremely difficult to manage their business using SYSPRO, to the point that they're looking at alternative solutions. The Projects and Contracts module is not a very useful tool. It does project accounting reasonably well, but in terms of putting in proper structures, like a work breakdown structure and so forth, it's actually quite poor. Their design or their architecture for the Projects module isn't good enough. They need to redesign it and redevelop it. They have made improvements. However, the problem is that if you're building on a bad foundation, then your building isn't going to be very strong. That's principally their problem. Any heavy equipment company would have a requirement to keep their equipment available for production. In that sense, SYSPRO has no maintenance management functionality. There's also no functionality for field services management. These two functionalities are critical for places like mines or for heavy equipment manufacturers who service the aftermarket and so forth. From a product perspective, this obviously isn't a good place to be because they are sort of taking themselves out of the market for quite a number of industries. They are constrained to manufacturing and distribution."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Consider the roles of the employees who will use NetSuite and identify any groups who will only utilize the employee center. These licenses are cheaper and will reduce costs significantly."
  • "Measure twice, cut once."
  • "Good solution for the price, but hire a skilled project manager to handle the technical setup."
  • "Do not try to go it alone. Get a consultant who has been there and listens."
  • "NetSuite offers a great many advantages, including a cost of about third of the traditional pharma manufacturing ERP packages."
  • "NetSuite OneWorld is much less expensive for a very small to medium-sized business. Still, when you grow into an enterprise-level company, the price increases, but as long as you plan and know that going in, it's manageable."
  • "NetSuite OneWorld has fair pricing. It was not very expensive, so price-wise, I'm rating it as five out of ten."
  • "NetSuite OneWorld tends to be pricey. The decision to allocate a budget for this solution ultimately rests with the management and negotiating team, and I am not typically included in these discussions. Nonetheless, the information I've received leads me to believe that it is a costly platform. There are not any additional costs that I am aware of."

    Overview
A comprehensive web-based solution, NetSuite is the industry's first and only Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business software that supports your entire company from accounting/enterprise resource planning (ERP) to customer relationship management (CRM), professional services automation (PSA) and eCommerce in a single, integrated and powerful business management software solution.
SYSPRO enterprise resource planning (ERP) software supports the control, integration and synchronization of all aspects of the manufacturing process and accommodates both short and long production runs in several manufacturing environments. This single source solutionis compatible with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS software), and it features several quality control measures. Most notable is the lot traceability function, which tracks raw materials through their entire life cycle, beginning with their receipt, manufacture and assembly, and moving on to their inspection, stocking and distribution. It also keeps track of expiration dates and certifications of quality. Another valuable feature of this mining industry software is the inventory management component, which accurately forecasts inventories by analyzing sales history and other factors. Several companies have implemented this software to improve their business operations, including U.S. Salt. They found SYSPRO's focus on the client/server environment and the solution's scalabilty as two reasons to implement this software. The software's combination of manufacturing, distribution and financial functions was enough to convince U.S. Salt that this was the right software for their company. The result for U.S. Salt was highly efficient operations that maintain inventory levels for on-demand shipments within three to five days. U.S. Salt also cited the usability of the software as a benefit. Their employees could easily use it and even personalize it for their work stations. SYSPRO is a global leader in ERP business software. With 35 years of experience in the industry, SYSPRO has gained the trust of more than 15,000 customers and has partnered with 1,500 ERP channels in 60 countries. SYSPRO has a 98 percent customer retention rate.
