We performed a comparison between New Relic and Savision Live Maps based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic and others in Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and Observability."The alert mechanism is quite accurate when something goes wrong in your system. For example, if you have hundreds of APIs on your server, and any of the APIs is not performing well, you get an alert. When there is a drop or change in the threshold value, the beauty of New Relic is that within a fraction of seconds, all the stakeholders who are configured in the New Relic system will get an alert. That's one good thing."
"It allows the restriction of privileges and control of users."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to receive in-depth information about applications. It can detect a lot of important information."
"It has helped my organization to dive deeper into the application using the APM module is very helpful."
"As soon as it monitors all our systems and is integrated with PagerDuty, the operations team just needs to wait for alerts on their cellphones to fix things."
"It is stable and scalable."
"It has helped us maintain a much higher uptime than we had previously."
"The synthetics, alerts, and native inbuilt capabilities for monitoring the cloud with the New Relic agents have been helpful."
"This helps to centralize multiple monitoring solutions and streamline integration into ITSM."
"In addition, its difficult to have a predictive tool to see how the application would behave in the future when it basically only shows the historical data."
"There has been some problem with the agent, and it is just not working well. It is not able to record information with the application server. They have been able to fix the issue, but it took quite a long time. This is the main issue in the APM products and also in New Relic. The mobile application monitoring has been pretty difficult to set up and also quite expensive. It should be a little bit easier and cheaper. Because it is pretty difficult and expensive, many customers don't take it."
"One thing I'd like to see in any APM, especially New Relic, is the ability to use distributed transactions. When one microservice calls another, it calls another database and microservice. The entire data visualization layer will not be able to correlate from one microservice from end to end and return on that path. Distributed transactions would be a great addition that would make life simpler. Unfortunately, no APM has that end-to-end capability."
"I would like to be able to invest less time in IT and ad hocs. We should be concentrating on other issues."
"They could improve the education process and how people understand that these tools are very technical. Right now, if someone was to pick it up from day one, it is a very steep learning curve."
"Compared to their competitors, they are missing some features at the moment."
"The solution needs to have staging."
"I would like to have storage monitoring. E.g., being able to monitor SANS, specifically protocols, like NFS and CIFS metrics."
"Perhaps more focus can be done on the CMDB portion and bi-directional communication to the ITSM system, but this is a small portion."
