Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"It's really an enterprise solution. It has a dashboard, like standard dashboarding functionality. It also has reporting capabilities for producing pixel-perfect reports, bursting large volumes of a document if you need to. It has interactive data discovery functionality, which you would use to explore your data, bring your own data, and merge it with maybe the data from an enterprise data warehouse to get new insights from the pre-existing data. It has machine learning embedded in the solution. If you're new to machine learning, it's a really good way to get into it, because it's all within this platform, and it's really easy to use.""The features that I find to be the most valuable are the BAS (Business Analytics), the Narrate feature, and the auto-visualization.""The AI/ML enablement is useful, as many reporting tools do not offer machine learning models as of now, without writing customized code.""The product is easily customized."

"All of the modules that we used to have separately in our on-premises solution are now integrated into one platform.""The Smart Predict, Smart Insights, and Smart Discovery predictive analysis features are quite good.""The most valuable features are the visualization and user-friendliness.""The ease of use of the solution is its most valuable feature. We haven't tried all of the features yet. The graphing and the ease of using the analytics tools have been great. It's all drag and drop; you don't need to code anything.""Provides rich features for developing automated reports and dashboards.""The user interface is quite good for developing reports out of models.""Planning is the most valuable feature of the product because it's integrated and that means we don't need to rely on an independent planning environment.""One feature I've found most valuable is discovery."

Cons
"As with most BI tools, the visualizations can be made much nicer. Currently, it has standard visualizations. They've been adding new visualizations, but we see animated visualizations from other vendors. It would be nice to have similar visualizations, such as the swarming visualizations, which are fairly new and very popular at the moment. I haven't seen that with Oracle. That would be nice.""Sharing dataflows is not possible at this time, and the custom chart functionality is not available.""At this time, dataflows cannot be shared, but I think that this should be enhanced.""The interfaces could be improved and some in-memory operations could be built in."

"I would like to see reporting to the Analytics cloud directly.""Some of the standard visualizations, such as a speedometer or a goal chart, are not there and should be added.""We are currently working on connectivity with S/4HANA, but we would like to have better connectivity with our legacy systems.""Statistical analysis should be a bit more profound than it is.""SAP Analytics cloud needs better exporting options.""There is no direct connector from SAP to Redshift, so we are required to use a third-party product that was recommended by SAP.""When it comes to planning there is a concern about the ability to match the exact requirements of the customer with what the product offers.""Improvements are coming quarterly whereas previously it was on a monthly basis."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"The price is reasonable; it's quite a bit lower than Tableau and Spotfire."

"It is not the most expensive one. You have to do the cost-of-ownership analysis and take a lot of things into consideration to come up with the conclusion that it is cheaper or not, but its price is reasonable. It provides value for money.""It's quite expensive and costs a lot to maintain, especially with licensing.""It's not that costly as such for the time being.""Its licensing is on a monthly basis.""Compute and storage features should be sold separately.""Its pricing is okay as compared to its competitors."
