Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"You can customize the solution to create a console where only business users can access and download files if they want to extract the data.""The database is super easy to use for creating tables.""The solution is easy to handle. The tool has helped us develop many applications since it supports SQL and NoSQL languages. We are familiar with this language. Also, the solution’s interface design and database design are very easy. It is not so much complex. I have no experience working with other solutions.""The most valuable feature of Oracle APEX is its comprehensive set of features for creating user-friendly and visually appealing applications.""The virtual patching feature is valuable.""It provides attractive GUIs allowing professionally-styled applications without the need to know HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.""The autonomous database is valuable and provides the main structure for code development.""Oracle APEX's reporting features are simple yet powerful. The ability to quickly create CRUD screens has simplified many RAD discovery processes, while the APEX environment allows the product owners and dev teams to quickly understand the complex solutions and employ usage statistics to identify areas requiring improvement. The option to add external JavaScript tools in screen development enables the development of complicated mobile or web usage scenarios in rare cases where the APEX UX is not enough."

"QuickBase reminds me when a software license or a hardware support contract is near expiration so that I can initiate our company's procurement process in time and not miss a deadline.""We have made good use of the ability in QuickBase to add multiple apps for various departments and purposes, while some apps are shared.""There's a lot of stability in QuickBase...I really appreciate the processing part of QuickBase, especially considering how we're able to get information in real time instead of having to wait.""I run my own business and the solution allows me to invoice and pay for additional resources. It has helped me in terms of invoicing, quoting, and doing recruitment measures.""The usability of QuickBase largely depends on how you design your workflows within the platform. If you keep them simple and straightforward, it can be a highly usable product.""Creating applications in Quickbase will take, literally, a fraction of the time it would take to create them in other database applications (which shall remain unnamed).""It provides a well-organized method for overseeing everything, especially considering the remote work aspect.""QuickBase is an excellent product and it is very easy to get support."

Cons
"Connections to the application pages are not handled well and at times more than one user can be accessing an application with the same ID.""The format is not recognized by Microsoft Word products.""I've experienced some difficulties when using Oracle Application Express (APEX), particularly when I'm designing forms. For example, when I design a form, I add buttons and controls, but I'm unable to visualize how it'll look unless I run it. You want to design and do things your way, but if you don't have much experience, then you'll find that designing in Oracle Application Express (APEX) is a little complicated. This won't be a problem with anyone more experienced, though. If I wanted to create my design, for example, a different table format or some background images, it becomes a problem, and this is an area for improvement in Oracle Application Express (APEX). Designing should be easier, even for less experienced users. An additional feature I'd like to see in Oracle Application Express (APEX) is more plugins, particularly a repository that contains a lot of plugins, so you can go to that repository and download whichever you like and use it or add it to your project. Right now, I create my plugins, so it would be helpful if Oracle Application Express (APEX) has a repository of plugins people can use, download from anywhere in the world, and integrate into projects.""The solution’s pricing is high if you use it on the OCA platform. It’s also a little bit costly. However, if we use it on an on-premises Oracle database, the pricing is cheaper.""It would be highly beneficial if APEX were an all-in-one platform capable of handling all aspects of application development.""Reporting needs to be accessed via third party tools.""When exporting, we can't export dynamic reports, only static reports. For example, when we want to export charts or tables it is only exported as a static report so we can't drop down on these reports; however, we can see this information when we are on the dashboard itself.""Oracle Application Express would be improved if you could use it on a mobile platform."

More Oracle Application Express (APEX) Cons →

"The dashboard is not organized.""It would be beneficial for the QuickBase team to focus on improving the integration of cloud-based storage platforms within their product. In use cases like ours, where QuickBase serves as a centralized source of truth for construction projects, having seamless integration with platforms like Dropbox or OneDrive would greatly enhance the product's capabilities.""The improved developer interface in some areas can be difficult to use for complex items.""I would like to see the reporting enhanced because some of them are not easy to generate.""Unfortunately, there is still no new report formatting available natively, and would still require 3rd party developers to help with that. .""Access to more standard default layouts and sample builds would be useful, and access to more training on use and flexibility.""The mobile app has improved, but it still needs work.""I would like to see better options for producing paper reports from Quick Base, rather than viewing things exclusively on screen."
