We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"OpenScript has many features that make it useful, including the ability to record and playback.""We like that we don't need a separate management tool. This is a good feature. It also has an inbuilt performance tool which is on Flash. It has very good record and playback feature as well. The inspection tool is also very good. Overall, since it comes with all the three packages, it's very good.""User friendly UI / Tree view to work with adding steps.""The most valuable feature is the object identification feature.""I like the functional testing. There's a product inside OATS called OLT, Oracle Load Testing. You can do the load testing without depending on any other tool""The most valuable features are functional testing and the central repository that contains various scripts.""We do not need a separate test management tool because we have there is a management tool. That is a very good feature. Secondly, it has an inbuilt performance testing tool, which is on flash. It has very good record and playback features as well. And apart from that, there is a good inspection feature. Since it comes with all of the packages, it's very good.""We find the front-end interface of this solution to be very user-friendly, meaning easy navigation even for novice users."

"Sauce Labs' dashboards contain multiple useful metrics in one place. Everything is represented to us visually on the dashboard, which helps us understand where to focus our attention, what the issues are, and what we need to resolve.""With Sauce Labs, we have a whole universe of devices: Galaxy, all the iPhones, and all the operating system versions. All our software developers are able to test on a multitude of different devices.""Allows us to do JIRA Cloud and BambooHR Integration.""There is a huge amount of open source, community provided resources.""Testing across multiple devices and environments is now possible to do quickly and effectively.""The most valuable feature is the ability to run concurrent automated tests up to a specified value, depending on what we are currently paying for.""I have found the live test section with Sauce Labs to be extremely valuable. When you can't quite figure out why a test is failing, you can go to the live test results section within their tool and launch your test (specifying a given OS/browser, or device) manually and step through the test to see the issue more clearly, usually opening up the developer's tool console and watching the network calls and console (within Chrome) to usually find the underlying issue.""I like the dashboard and seeing the test results. As a manager, I like to see the insights of the people using it, understanding the total path and run. I can see all of that as a manager. I also know team members love seeing the dashboard and seeing the test results in real-time."

Cons
"Licensing policies could be more intuitive.""To provide test automation support for other products like SAP, Windows and Java Applications when it comes to Functional Test Automation testing.""Oracle Application Testing Suite does encounter some lag. When I am trying to record something, the tool gets stuck.""I would like to see better dashboards.""I have faced issues with some indexing items.""The dashboards need to be simplified and made more user-friendly.""The pathfinding at times is slow when we are using it. The tool's performance can be improved.""We would like to see the instruction documentation made into video or audio formats, to help new users get used to the modules."

"We have faced challenges with the availability of mobile devices. There was once or twice where there were no mobile devices available.""We had some specific features that we opened tickets on, although they were not earth-shattering. For example, the way the menus scroll could be improved because it does not have a bar, the way that people are used to, where you can move up and down.""Sauce Labs needs to be improved in the different platforms for farm testing, like iOS and Android farm testing and farm testing web browsers.""User account management needs an overhauls, allowing for user groups rather than just a hierarchy structure.""We have found that during automated testing this can be very slow. This causes inconsistencies with the tests. It's very difficult to rely on a service when you can't be sure if a test will pass or fail the next time it runs. This means building in a lot of sync time into the tests which in turn slows them down. If this speed could be improved then the service would be much better.""Another feature that could still be improved on is more error clarity. Sometimes when running automated scripts the test will fail on the device side instead of the script and errors only show a 500 try again message instead of a detailed script that could of a been a timeout error from the code.""I would like to see improved network connectivity and it should allow playback for native apps.""Lacks the ability to start multiple tests simultaneously."

    Reviews from Real Users

Sauce Labs is a solution that stands out when compared to many of its competitors. It has valuable features that include error logging, helpful dashboards, and its browser.

Joel A., Product Manager - Data & APIs at a marketing services firm, says, "The error logging is very robust. If we run a test through Sauce Labs and there's some sort of issue, a log will appear on the screen. Log messages are usually heinous and horrible... Sauce Labs is incredibly good at saying things like, 'Hey, here is the exact issue. Fix this and you can run the test.' That helps in getting things up and running and executing the way they should."

Savio D., Sr. IT Architect at a healthcare company, mentions, "Sauce Labs' dashboards contain multiple useful metrics in one place. Everything is represented to us visually on the dashboard, which helps us understand where to focus our attention, what the issues are, and what we need to resolve."

PeerSpot reviewer, Rob L., Director of Quality Assurance - Shared Service at a financial services firm, writes, “The most valuable feature for us is the browser. The most critical thing is that this software aligns with our Agile and DevOps way of doing things. It integrates with kickoff scripts through DevOps.”
