Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is that it offers several adaptors.""There is ROI with the product's use.""The initial setup was straightforward.""The deployment is most valuable feature.""Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is about as stable as the other CSPs, but Oracle Cloud is more common in Korea.""The pricing of the solution is pretty good.""I like the solution’s stability, performance, and fault alerts.""The initial setup was easy. It takes just a few minutes to create a virtual machine."

"The most valuable features of SAP S4HANA on AWS are that it's simplified and the analytical capabilities are good.""The system has the capacity to manage all these departments in a single box and they're all integrated.""The solution is scalable.""SAP S4HANA on AWS is an easy-to-use solution.""SAP has an auto-scaling feature, but Azure doesn't.""The most valuable feature of SAP S4HANA is Fiori. It allows users to access information quickly and easily, without having to navigate through unnecessary screens or transactions. Additionally, the ability to retrieve data more efficiently is helpful. Furthermore, the pre-delivered videos and functionalities within the solution allow for easier application building.""I like that they are very familiar with our VM which makes it easy to use.""Technical support is very good from SAP and AWS...Scalability is always available in the solution...With a stable environment, it should be running very nicely."

Cons
"With Oracle you have to create your own roles and it is more complex.""In the next release, I would like to see more automation.""The solution needs improvement in support, performance, and features.""The biggest challenge I'm having with the cloud offering is the sizing. So, pricing becomes difficult. The sizing challenge is in terms of being very clear on how your data growth or your requirements would be. It becomes a bit difficult to be able to ensure that there's enough future proofing in what you've signed. At the same time, the whole idea behind the cloud is to be able to pay for what you use. You don't want to pay for something that you're not using.""They could add more features.""The packaging part of the software needs improvement. It lacks customization abilities for users. Giving them VMs for machine learning or running their own programs like Azure and Amazon, for example. Things like scalability based on the requirement of the tools. Oracle still lacks these kinds of things. For example, if you need a VM from Oracle, you need to pay for a monthly fee. They started developing containership but it's still at the initial stage and it's still lacking. They also need to develop integration between packages.""The integration tools that they offer are quite complex to use.""The pricing model of Oracle Cloud Platform is an area of concern. Oracle Cloud Platform should be made available at a cheap price."

More Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Cons →

"The platform's front-end user interface needs improvement compared to other applications.""The solution needs a warehouse management feature. Right now, there's a built-in WM, but they don't have an EWM extended warehouse management built-in, in S/4HANA. It's a separate product. So if they can add that, that would be great.""We had some storage and legacy migrations problems with SAP S4HANA on AWS.""The manufacturing application system, it's not as user-friendly in S4HANA.""There are a few complexities when it comes to licensing that could be simplified.""CPU architecture is an area where the solution currently has some issues. Improvement in CPU architecture could improve the performance side and the adherence to the parameters set by SAP.""S4HANA is expensive. It costs much more than SuccessFactors.""The drawback of this tool versus an on-site tool is that you've got to upgrade the tool. The software is upgraded as it gets upgraded and you've got to be ready to change whatever processes and do whatever training you need to do."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Make sure you read the fine print."
  • "My ROI has increased."
  • "It's not that expensive. I think it's maybe half or one-fourth of our actual on-prem cost, especially in Oracle Data Integrator. It's pretty cheap. Maybe around $30,000 or $40,000 per month."
  • "Costing depends on if you have an existing license for the application and for the operating system."
  • "The cost may be a bit high for many potential users."
  • "The pricing is a little bit expensive compared to other products."
  • "Improvements can be made with respect to flexibility in the licensing model."
  • "There is a subscription cost rather than licensing for this product."
  • More Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Licensing fees are on an annual basis."
  • "The licensing of the product is reasonable but the cost of the hardware is exorbitant."
  • "We pay a monthly fee for the use of SAP S4HANA on AWS for approximately five years. That's the time of the contract."
  • "The price of SAP S4HANA on AWS is reasonable, given how much it costs to maintain a scratch-built system. To upgrade the support there is a fee."
  • "SAP S4HANA's pricing model should be more flexible and transparent - there's a lot of negotiation and internal factors, and some customers get better value and services for the same product."
  • "I would rate the pricing as a two and a half out of five."
  • "Compared to its competitors, SAP S4HANA on AWS is a costly solution."
  • "It's expensive. It would be good if AWS and Azure could reduce the computing cost for people who move to the public cloud."
