We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It was easy to set up the product.""I like Oracle ERP for streamlining the entire process from PRTL and invoice payments. It also has the decision and internet sale order, and my customers can correct the internet decision. It automatically converts to the internet order, and they don't need to create the entry object. They don't need to make a secondary ledger in the parent company and subsidiary. That's very helpful for internet decisions. If they get an order at the parent company, it automatically creates the sales system in the subsidiary.""EBS has lots of application families and lots of features. It is modular in deployment and flexible enough to let the customer increase the built-in capabilities and enable new applications when needed. These are very important things at hand in case there will be a need to expand the product capabilities and/or implement new projects.""Oracle's technical support is better than others.""The most valuable feature is the integration between accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and budgeting.""If I want to manage many parts of my organization, such as finances, proceedings, or supply chain I would typically need to buy many different solutions. However, with Oracle E-Business Suite, it is all that is needed. This ERP system has many modules.""On-Time Payroll and its features are user-friendly.""The solution has other core processes that can be implemented with customers according to their needs."

"I like the Teamcenter Requirements Manager. It also has a structure manager where you create an engineering bill of materials and manufacturing process planning. There is something like service lifecycle management. That is where the maintenance data is stored. There are multiple modules. ALM Polarion is also a Siemens solution. It is a separate product, but it's part of the Siemens portfolio.""The product's most valuable features are patch and data management."

Cons
"Oracle E-Business Suite could improve the tables. When we remove some of them sometimes they cloud the modules into one. It becomes a little difficult to segregate.""The initial setup was a little complex.""They started on the mobile app and tablets, but still I see there are no short-forms used in EBS.""They should have a nicer way to handle very high volumes of data because we deal with really high volumes, and sometimes, we end up with performance issues.""There are always some bugs and missing patches.""Oracle has improved a lot because Oracle E-Business Suite is quite outdated. Oracle built the Oracle Fusion platform and it has many improved processes. We registered a few enhancements requests, but it's a very long bureaucratic process with Oracle. It doesn't make any sense to communicate with Oracle about what changes should be made to the system.""It would be great to see Oracle E-Business Suite become less dependent on the SAO solution, which is an integration solution for Oracle platforms.""Oracle E-Business Suite uses an old technology (Forms), which is Java-based."

"The product's web interface and setup process could be better.""This solution works, but it has many issues. Smaller companies are coming up the cloud-based PLM solutions that may replace larger PLM companies like PTC or Siemens in the future. It has some performance problems, and the maintenance is too expensive. Recently, we completed a project, and it cost almost $6 million to upgrade."

  • "Oracle scales the pricing, but E-Business Suite is still very expensive for small to mid-sized businesses."
  • "It costs too much."
  • "The pricing is high."
  • "In order to minimize the implementation and consultancy costs, business lines should have proper definitions. They need to have a proper way of retrieving their data, which should be structured well."
  • "Both the current projects and future projects should be defined well. Licensing should be done according to current and near future plans."
  • "USD $100,000 annually."
  • "Considering the market at the moment, Oracle needs to adjust the pricing of this solution."

    Reviews from Real Users:

Kopano R., Freelancer at a tech services company, says, “What I found most valuable in Oracle E-Business Suite is the patching because it is straightforward. As long as you follow Oracle's best practices, you are able to finish the task of patching without a problem. I like that it's also easy to add products, e.g. if you want to add on financials, you can, or if you don't have financials, you can expand on that. I like that Oracle E-Business Suite is really scalable.”

Mohammed G., Senior Oracle Application Consultant at a comms service provider, writes, “Oracle E-Business Suite consists of a lot of streams, such as financial and HR processes of the enterprise companies. We are using most of the Oracle financial modules, and we have an Oracle stream, FI procurement stream, and HR streams, which have a lot of applications. Oracle E-Business Suite has over 20 different modules to choose from, it is comprehensive. Additionally, the integration is very good. “
