We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature of Oracle EMCC is its flexibility to manage various industries, projects, and tasks.""The tool's most valuable feature is notifications. It is also flexible in defining metrics where you can specify any metric type. Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control helps monitor the resources you manage so that you do not overpay.""The solution helps database tuning through query ID and SQL ID; we can fine-tune skill parameters and gather information to enhance operational analysis and performance.""Once this solution is configured, it will help administrators centralize their management of the environment.""It is easier to manage your Oracle Database backups and create email alerts regarding the status of your backups (Succeeded or Failed).""From a performance perspective, the management capabilities of the product are very valuable to its customers.""I use the solution for troubleshooting.""You can create a system group (database, application, and web server), so you can monitor performance as a system."

"The ease of installation and configuration is the most valuable feature, especially for VMware and the cloud.""It gives us visibility into the virtual infrastructure, and even the physical infrastructure, and into the workloads running. We have visibility even at the level of the appliance services. We can monitor everything. We can also create dependency reports, so if a service is down, it will not impact things. It gives us those dependencies brilliantly.""VMware provides good support. We are a GSS customer which means that we have global support with a dedicated engineer from VMware's side so we have no issues with support.""The most valuable feature is the ability to check the right-sizing of a machine because that way I can assign the real resources that are needed.""I like that we can see what amount of the CPU has been used and what's been handed out. We can see how we can bring the virtual machines in line with what actually has been used which has saved us cost.""It gives me metrics that I can share with the rest of my team. I can say, "Look, this server is performing poorly." Even down into the Windows Servers, which are my primary bread and butter, it gives me visibility into situations such as when they're running out of storage and I need to expand the drives. It gives that top-level visibility to get in and fix a lot of problems.""It tells us when there's an issue with a particular VM or host. It gives us a remediation in order to fix that problem. For example, if there's a shortage of memory or a shortage of CPU, things of that nature, it tells you how to correct that issue.""One of the best features is the monitoring. It gives you proactive recommendations, based on the information that you have. It recommends changes. For example, if an ESX service is heavily loaded, it will tell you to make some changes, such as storage optimizations. Every tool does monitoring, but this one gives you more proactive monitoring, with the recommendations and actions that are needed."

Cons
"The product does have room for improvement in patch management.""The product lacks in the area of database, making it an area where improvements are required.""I've had both positive and negative experiences with support. Its compatibility with the rest of the products in the market is less.""Adding new databases is difficult in Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control.""Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control manages the monitoring and the graphs. Other tools complement the base monitoring. Zabbix is efficient with space pressure.""The response time of the solution's technical support team is too long and should be improved.""Sometimes the alerts are coming a bit late, for example, an alert for the CPU. It depends on the threshold that you have, how long you want to check the CPU of the machine. I got some faulty alerts with Data Guard. I had stopped a synchronization for maintenance and then I re-synchronized Oracle Data Guard. It took some time to appear in Enterprise Manager and send me the right notification that Data Guard was up and running and synchronizing. I realized this because I went directly into the database to check the status of Data Guard, and it was telling me that it was running okay. But in Enterprise Manager, it needed some more time to update the interface.""You cannot use Enterprise Manager as replacement for a WebLogic console."

"Sometimes what a customer sees as a need for improvement could be incorrect sizing or a result of a specific deployment. So usually, the things we want are a more frequent sampling of the various metrics and the like.""I would like to see more integration between vRealize Operations, Log Insight, and Network Insight. It would be nice if they worked a bit better together.""I'd like to see a little more training, free training on the VMware site; to get some more information within the VMware community. There's quite a bit of stuff out there but getting that access can be daunting sometimes.""One thing I mentioned when speaking with the engineers is that we'd like to get more granular reporting. We'd like to see more real-time reporting on the application-process level. Right now, we don't get that. For example, if I have a VM that's spiking up on memory or CPU, I can't really drill down to the application level and say, "Hey, I have IE that's spiking due to the user's streaming of video and that's affecting their entire session." vROps doesn't do that.""If it could help with calculating on-prem costs, based on their experience, it would help customers determine whether to remain on-prem or move to the cloud.""There is a lot of stuff which is hard to read and understand. I must do a lot of research to understand what is going on with the hardware.""In this vCenter, my wish is to establish a backup system that doesn't require VIN. It involves creating a backup ticket directly from the vCenter for the virtual machines and performing the backup task for each server, ensuring redundancy without the need for additional software. This would be a preferable solution if all of this could be accomplished within vCenter itself.""When it comes to policies, they need to fine tune things to make it easier. It is a bit difficult setting up policies."
