We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Functionality-wise, it is what they say it is. It is the best in class, but it all ties back to your users. If your users are completely enamored with Excel spreadsheets, then breaking those habits is hard.""This product is very scalable and provides high ROI.""It is easy to use. It is very intuitive. Even though there is a lot of functionality that comes out of the box, you can customize the solutions to meet your needs. You have the ability to have business rules that produce all kinds of calculations. We're international, and we do all our FX conversions through that.""The stability is fine and quite user friendly.""It's a very good program and it's useful for consolidation.""The roll-up potential of the product is very good, meaning we have detailed information and we want it to be summarized, based on geography, based on different product lines, or based on different charts of accounts in the general ledger. It rolls up the information in a very concise way. This makes it easy to understand the overall performance, for it's forecasting aspects, or quarterly reporting, year to year, or month to month reporting.""It's basically the same as the other budgeting solutions.""We like the reporting and tracking of financials."

"Once you do the budget in Oracle ERP, you can upload it, but it's easier to create and manage budgets in the Oracle budgeting tool itself. For example, if you have a shortfall in the budget, it's easier to manage that and the forms, too, especially if you also have Oracle Forms Management. You can get the forms from somewhere and then transform those forms into budget heads.""The tool improves the organizational budgeting process in several ways. One significant aspect is the extensionable functionality it offers. To illustrate, consider a scenario where a company has factories in Mexico producing Volkswagen and Kentucky producing Ford.""The most valuable feature is the data integration in Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud.""We previously used Oracle EDS, and when comparing it to this solution, this solution has a much better interface. There are lots of advantages of the new solutions. Having it on the cloud, we are able to forget about keeping them updated or taking care of the database. We have minimal maintenance.""The most valuable features of Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud are the many capabilities it provides.""The product has a direct plugin to Microsoft Excel.""Beneficial analysis and easy to do management adjustments.""The workforce, the cube database, is the most valuable feature where you do planning for your headcounts."

Cons
"I would love more comment capabilities so that you could put in little notes, cheat notes.""Hyperion has much room for improvement, especially disaster recovery. You don't have the option to choose the proper disaster recovery method. We have Hyperion and an SQL server on the backend. We have active solutions for the backend database server, which aren't working for our people. They've asked us to remove the high availability to increase application performance.""Their documentation could be a little bit more descriptive at places. They don't really do a lot of How-Tos because that gets pushed through to the consulting groups. There have been some books. There is a real good one out there about how to look smarter than you are with Hyperion Planning that some people at a company called ArganoInterRel wrote. Those things do exist, but that's not in their documentation. It's basically like they'll say, "This is the field. This is what it's used for," but they don't tell you how to particularly use it in your case environment.""There's something known as a data block that Hyperion generates for each and every transaction. Sometimes it does not generate and we need to identify those issues and fix them manually.""The initial setup of Oracle Hyperion is very difficult.""The forecasting of values could be simplified in this solution.""The analytics could be improved.""I found the initial setup to be complex."

More Oracle Hyperion Cons →

"Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud could improve by having better integration with some other modules that we would add to this solution.""One potential improvement would be a more visual workflow, as the current method using a tax list is not as effective.""There is middleware that we need to purchase for our use case that should be provided in Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud. We should not have to purchase the additional solution and the integration should be seamless.""Some of the things in this product are just too cumbersome and we don't need them and they make it harder to do certain things, or certain things have to have more specific names or descriptions.""The tool's interface is outdated. However, OneStream is easier to navigate.""Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud could improve. There are times when the forms are slow in saving and calculating.""For HR, the workforce planning out of the box is complicated. For most users, it's not easy, and it requires a learning curve. It's not very user-friendly. It can be improved.""The FR recording studio that is used to build reports is clunky and awful to use. This could be improved a lot. The solution does have problems and limitations."
