We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The thing that I find most valuable is that Omada consists of building blocks, which means that you can configure almost anything you want without using custom code, making it pretty easy to do. It's possible to connect to multiple target systems and to create one role that consists of different permissions in the different target systems. So one role in Omada can make sure that you have an account in three different systems.""The benefits of Omada Identity include a holistic way of viewing access, the ability to give people access, and automation.""The most valuable feature is the automatic provisioning and reconciliation of things like the Active Directory groups and memberships.""We used to have a problem where an employee's access wasn't terminated when they left the company. Now, we have much better visibility into and control over who has access.""Omada offers a technical solution that addresses both our needs.""Omada's user interface is elegant and easy to work with. I like Omada's ability to automatically generate accounts for new hires and allow them access to all required systems by established policies. Around 80 percent of workers can start working immediately on their first day without requesting further access.""Omada's most valuable aspect is its usability.""The best feature in Omada Identity is that it enables us to implement standardized employee life cycle processes so that we don't have to create them ourselves. We can then use the standard workflows. The breadth and scope of the solution’s IGA features also fulfill our requirements."

"OIM in my organization has improved its use and dependability, allowing us to pass audit each time.""The support service of Oracle is good. We use it a lot and their response is quick.""The most important feature is the connectors. Without the connectors, it can do nothing.""The most valuable feature of Oracle Identity Governance is user lifecycle management. Certification is also a valuable feature of the solution. Oracle Identity Governance allows you to assign who has access to what, which is its basic feature.""It has a very good response time.""Scalability-wise, I rate this solution a nine out of ten. Oracle Identity Governance is a scalable solution, without a doubt.""The most important features that have impacted our environment recently are the Single Sign-On solution, role based provisioning, and the automated provisioning of accounts to target systems.""This solution has improved the organization in several ways, including saving many help-desk password-reset calls, IT staff productivity, and quicker user on-boarding."

"The most valuable feature is single sign-on.""The most valuable feature is the User Experience Designer, which has been very helpful for our project.""It helps the end users to work on the road without needing to set up all kinds of VPN connections""The most valuable features in VMware Identity Manager for me are the control groups and rules.""Zero Trust implementation is a great feature.""Its value is when you use it with a Workspace ONE UEM solution as it is part of the ecosystem for VMware Workspace ONE.""When we publish the applications, getting the credentials to log in and keep the application up or running is easy.""The solution is stable."

Cons
"Functionality and usability could be improved.""The comprehensiveness of Omada's out-of-the-box connectors for the applications we use could be better. We are getting a new HR system called Cornerstone for which they do not have an out-of-the-box connector, so we have to take the REST connector and play around with it.""When making a process, you should be able to use some coding to do some advanced calculations. The calculations you can currently do are too basic. I would also like some additional script features.""The web GUI can be improved.""The solution should be made more agile for customers to own or configure.""The architecture of the entire system should also be less complex. The way they process the data is complex.""The user interface should have a more flexible design, where you can change it to your requirement.""They need to improve the cost for small companies."

More Omada Identity Cons →

"The cost of this product needs to be reduced.""t is too complex, has too many bugs, and is an immature product, even the best case, beta version.""The product design has some complications for doing some use cases. I would like to see easier onboarding of applications and easier ways to plugin the customization codes.""The user interface experience needs to be improved.""I have yet to see its full functionality exercised in my organization.""Our issues with the solution have to do with the integration with different applications. It's not easy to connect ICAO to this kind of product. It would be better to work on the extensions of the adapters for this kind of identity management solution in order to not put in the code in the product.""The solution should be easy to implement with components combined in one file and built-in features to integrate target applications without having to install additional connectors.""You need full visibility because the suite of features are complex and you have to be clear on what you want to implement."

More Oracle Identity Governance Cons →

"I would like better integration for deploying programs with binary files.""it's very dependent on an active directory""The license could be better.""Many of the features that exist in Active Directory do not exist in Identity Manager, which means that people depend on Active Directory.""The security features could always use improvement, although there has already been a huge improvement from years ago.""vIDM could be improved with the multi-tenant capabilities that VMware tends to offer—features like customization branding and the integration of the app catalog based on the branding. Since the integration has been at top-level OGs, you were not able to then do rebranding if you were required to use specific user groups to highlight specific applications. At the time, I was personally opening feature requests for these things. I haven't worked with the latest release, so I don't know if these features were already deployed or not.""The mobile SSO doesn't work as well on Android.""There is a need for better user lifecycle management within VMware Identity Manager, along with better user governance...The scalability of the product needs to improve."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

  • "Oracle licenses are expensive. I suggest making pricing and licensing decisions that align with architectural requirements and the project's budget."
  • "The cost of support and upgrading to the next release are both expensive."
  • "The price is based on the number of users per year."
  • "Oracle Identity Governance is expensive."
  • "The price of the implementation of Oracle Identity Governance is more of a concern than the cost of the solution. The effort that you have to do to put the solution in place is higher than the license cost."
  • "I do not know specific pricing but the product is expensive when compared to other OIM products."
  • "The licensing cost for Oracle Identity Governance is very high, so I'd rate it two out of five."
  • "I can't say much about the pricing for Oracle Identity Governance because it's different from one geography to another. In India, the license price costs less than in other geographies."
  • More Oracle Identity Governance Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "We pay approximately $6.50 per user for the standard version. If you are paying for an enterprise license that includes VDI then it will cost approximately $25 per user on a monthly basis."
  • "Licensing fees are paid on a monthly basis."
  • "A person should pay towards the licensing costs of VMware Identity Manager on a yearly or monthly basis, but government and public sector units cannot for a perpetual licensing model."

    Reviews from Real Users

The one thing that stands out was the automatic sign-out when an employee goes on vacation. Identity Governance can monitor when an employee goes on vacation and returns. We use this feature to automatically disable all the employee's accounts when they go on vacation, and they're automatically enabled when they come back. We can also automatically delete the employee's accounts when they're dismissed. Oracle has a model that gives you precise reports. It's called Crystal, and it's similar to JasperReports, so we can derive reports from this database. “ - Fabio L., Partner at a tech services company.

“We are using Oracle Identity Manager for the management of the identity cycle. We have a human resources system as a source, and we have some custom-made applications as a destination of the changes in the identities. - A PeerSpot user who is a Project Manager at a government “
